VA Palo Alto New Grad Program

U.S.A. California

Published

I applied for the VA in Palo Alto's New Grad Program. I know they closed it to applicants today and have 20 openings. Has anyone heard anything or know anything?

I applied as well and haven't heard anything at all. How did you find out they had 20 new grad openings? That's a lot!

Thanks,

Vicky ;)

Hi. I've applied as well but have not heard anything yet. The recruiter says that they are reviewing it and forwarding it to the hiring managers. We should be hearing back from them one to two weeks.

What were your top three picks? Mine were Med/ Surg, ER, and ICU....Please update once you hear from them.

Sorry, I just reread the email. There are 10 opening.

My top three choices were Med/Surg, ER, and Subacute/Long Term in Livermore. I will definitely update when I hear, please do the same! Thanks!

Wow, that just really narrowed it down, LOL.

Vicky

I applied here too.... my choices were ICU, med/surg, and ER.

I hope and pray that there are openings in these departments and that we get lucky.

1-2 weeks is fast compared to other hospitals that usually take longer to review their hundreds of applications and considering that their program starts in Sept.

Good luck to us all! :nurse:

I applied too. I chose med/surg, ER & acute Psych. I heard that during last opening (this spring), they only looked at applicants' first choice, due to the large # of apps....sigh...but who knows.

Good luck everyone. I'll update if I hear anything new.

The recruiters told me that they will group the applications according to preference. However, if there is no vacancy in the area that you chose, they will group you with your second choice and so fourth. Good Luck everyone and remember to keep us updated with any response from them! :)

When I talked to one of the nurse recruiters, this is what she also told me. They already had over 200 applications in the first week of May so I think they will do the same and only look at your choice #1 for this new grad program.

My top 3 were. I am hoping no one really chose SubAcute/Hospice.

1. SubAcute/Hospice

2. ICU

3. Med/Surg
