But reading many of the posts, it seems like a difficult time to move to the US. I was wondering what are my chances of finding a RN job in California. Do I have to look for an agency or should I just look for openings in the hospitals' website?

I would suggest a good read in the International forum as more than likely you will be affected by retrogression which will more than likely cause you the biggest problem when looking for a employer. Also suggest you do not apply to Ca for initial license as your file will be destroyed after 3 years if you do not provide a SSN and retrogression is causing a longer delay than 3 years. (much also has been written in the International forum on Ca and SSN )
