SFSU FALL 2013

U.S.A. California

Published

Is anyone applying to the SFSU nursing program this fall? how are your stats looking like?

Email first. Got the email Thursday night and to this day, nothing via snail mail yet. On top of that, still nothing is changed on SFSU Gateway. Just says the same thing you have. But remember, my program is different from yours. Even though it is both BSN, I already have an RN license. I'm sure the generic BSN responses are going out by end of the coming week.

Hi namedkwon,

I'm the APO representative for the RN-BSN cohort at the SFSU campus (Cañada has their own system and NSA). I'm a current level 4 BSN student at SFSU and would like to keep in contact with you. please pm me for details as I would like to get in touch with the incoming APO students at SFSU.

Thanks

Whoa, I just looked at the updated fact sheet for the BSN program, and it looks like they changed their curriculum (for instance no pathophysiology and pharmacology) and it is now only 4 semesters rather than five. Anyone else know anything about this?

Also, does anyone know how they handle preceptorships?

Where? It still looks the same...

The incoming SFSU pre-licensure BSN students will be on the new curriculum lasting 4 semesters rather than 5.

APO students need not to worry about that as they also have a different set of classes to take under the new curriculum.

good luck to those who applied and congrats to those who got accepted.

Wow. Thanks for clarifying. Any idea why they changed the curriculum?

Hello Just4Kixs,

Do you know if the SFSU-Canada BSN program will also follow the new 4 semester curriculum?

I went to an info session for the Cañada program, and the director said they changed the curriculum so that it would be competency-based instead of content-based. The Cañada program will use the new 4-semester curriculum as well.

Thanks for clarifying that!!! Btw did you apply to the SFSU Canada BSN for FALL2013?? do you have an idea when we will be getting our letters? for some reason, this year is taking longer than ever :(

Just a note, thank you everyone who's been asking and answering the questions here, really helps us lurkers! According to the email I got when applying for the Canada program, we should know by late April. I also called them last week, and they also told me the last week of April. So it could mean by this week, or the beginning of next week (April 29/30). Good luck to all =)
