Scripps New Grad Nurse Residency 2013

U.S.A. California

Published

Hello fellow new grads!

I'm starting this post to round up all the applicants for the 2013 cohort at Scripps in San Diego. I called HR today and they were rather tight-lipped about when the application would post, and was told "It will post in about 30-45 days" and to "keep checking the website". Enlightening, isn't it? Also to those who applied for the last round and will be re-applying, any tips you want to share for us newbies? thanks and I look forward to hearing from everyone that's just as stressed as I am.

Hi! I'll be re-applying to Scripps. I got all the way through the panel interview but was rejected. It's hard out there.

The interview itself was very casual and light, more like a conversation (at least for me), and there are various managers from various hospitals at the table. I believe I was asked behavioral questions but nothing that freaked me out. I honestly can't remember exact questions.

I'm going to stalk the careers section. It should be up in a few weeks. :)

I'm glad you got some info! It's been frustrating to see "application dates will be announced soon". I will be applying too. I think Sharp will be accepting apps in October also. San Diego is HARD. I didn't apply anywhere the last time around because I was recovering from surgery and didn't want to walk in with a big orthopedic device. Good luck to everyone!! I'm also looking in Orange county too. A bit of a drive, but if it's only 3 days a week...

One last thing. Panel interviews freak me out. I've been through one before in a previous career and it was like a firing squad shooting questions at me. I hope to god that's not what these interviews are like!

I am going down to SD from SF to check out the area and get some advice from three if my classmates who just started the latest new grad program. I will post what I find out.

I can imagine they are rather tight-lipped because you're probably not the only new grad who has called them...that day. Now that the fall is coming, I'm sure the new grad calls to HR ramping up.

Just keep checking, be ready to apply the minute you see it posted, and best of luck!

That is wierd, I wonder how long they had them up, because I have been checking often. Was it today that you saw them?

I hope that means they didn't cancel the program for this cohort. This happened with Loma Linda University. The dates were set and and were on the website, and then yesterday I went to look so I could put them in my calendar, and the dates were no longer up, and they had canceled the cohort. :(

no, it wasn't today. it was sometime last week. it was a really long faq, much longer than the one currently posted. i thought it might have been an old faq from the previous new grad program, but it showed an october 2012 date for the next program application period.

From insiders that work there, it doesn't appear that they are canceling it. I don't have a date though. October/November is what I was told.
