Scripps New Grad Nurse Residency 2013

U.S.A. California

Published

Hello fellow new grads!

I'm starting this post to round up all the applicants for the 2013 cohort at Scripps in San Diego. I called HR today and they were rather tight-lipped about when the application would post, and was told "It will post in about 30-45 days" and to "keep checking the website". Enlightening, isn't it? Also to those who applied for the last round and will be re-applying, any tips you want to share for us newbies? thanks and I look forward to hearing from everyone that's just as stressed as I am.

Wishing all of you (who celebrate) a very Happy Thanksgiving. Hopefully this holiday season turns into gifts for us all in one way or another. :-)

All right, snowballs. Good luck to all of us with interviews. It starts today. :)

Hopefully today will result in a hell of a birthday present. LOL

For anyone lost and confused like I was this morning, the address number is 9619 not 9444. Have a great interview!

Anybody know how these interveiws work? I am not sure exactly how to prepare since we didnt necessarily apply to a "unit". Any advice? Also how did interviews go this morning/today?

I don't know if it's just how I approached it, but I had a really fun interview. Lots of laughing and a few serious moments. I thoroughly enjoyed myself. :)

SPANGLEC, we're interviewing for 5 hospitals, essentially. Whoever wants to pick you up will call (or email) you with an offer. Otherwise they send out those awful rejection emails. I had people from three different hospitals in my panel. Some panels had 3 people, others had 5. It varies. I don't know how they figure out who's going where.

For those who had an interview today do you mind sharing what type of questions were asked?

I'm super confused now! I got an email today saying the location was changed! my interview is on Friday!

I went into 9444. They had signs on the door.

Questions were all behavioral. A lot of prioritization kind of things. A few weird questions that I can't even remember right now, but I was totally thrown off. lol

Coriander: Did they happen to say when they would contact us regarding their decision? Or if there is going to be second round interviews or was this it?

I didn't ask, I'm sorry. There is only one round of interviews. Last time, I interviewed on June 4th and received my rejection on the 20th. People were receiving job offer phone calls several days ahead of my email.

I hope that helps. :)

They gave us sheet with info and it stated that we would know by December 7th if we were selected or not. I asked how many they were hiring and they said about 50.
