Does anyone have any information about the ADN application?

Pinkpega88- if they accepted 40 students does that mean that it's the 40 before the alternates? Or was it the original 30 they were going to accept and then they're going to take 10 more alternates? I only ask because I heard they only took 30-35 this semester. Maybe there is confusion in the department or something. I was thinking they went down so far on the alternate list because they would end up adding like 30-40 alternates due to the students complaints. Lol

It's 40 before the alternates. I emailed the ADN department and they took 40 applicants and everyone else is an alternate. I'm not sure if they will be adding more, but she said as of today they are only taking the 40 due to budget cuts. So if they add more than they take from the alternate list or if ppl do not accept the spot then they start taking from the alternate list.

I am accepted into the program but will probably decline as soon as I hear from Sac State on the 30th. Delta gives me until the 4th to make a decision. grrrrr...I hope I am not on the waiting list at Sac State cause that means I would have to wait for people to drop so I can move up the list....;) Most likely I will decline Delta so that will open up one spot hehehe

wow! You applied to 20 different schools? That takes a lot of time and MONEY. What is your first choice of school? Did you get into Delta?

Well I only applied to community colleges, so the applications were free. My first choice, well I don't really have one! I got into delta and will most likely attend since I can live with family.

I'm a little nervous about the clinical locations. I had no idea some were in Tracy and Manteca. I live in Sac and Stockton was already going to be a long commute without adding another 20+ mins to clinicals. I sure hope I get to register in time for the Stockton clinical location.

I will be living in Modesto so I am hoping for Manteca. Im starting to get excited!!!!

Do you guys plan on taking that study skills class August 6-10? I cant decide...

I haven't decided 100% either way but I'm leaning toward no. I don't really know how much I would benefit from it. In my experience, study skills classes tend to be a waste of time. Has anyone heard if this one is worth the time and money?

yea, im kinda leaning toward yes, only because i feel like it cant hurt! although it is cutting summer short a whole week!!! yea i wish someone who has taken it would give us their input!!!

Hi Everyone, Congrats on making it in! I am a third semester student and I did take the study skills class. I believe it was a little helpful, you do get some good tips and you also have guest speakers usually that are currently students in the program. That was fun picking their brains for all the questions you are all dying to know!! However, at the end of the class I thought to myself "I wish I would have had that whole week to read the bazillion chptrs that are going to be coming at you!!" There was sooooo many too read! Good Luck and enjoy your summer, cause come fall your gonna be studying like crazy! :yeah: Any questions I will try to answer for you! Oh and if you haven't heard all ready, ------ is SuperGreat 1st. semester Nursing instructor at St. Joes! Everyone is spectacular but she outshines them all!

So worried about finding out next week... I hope those who will stay make their decisions fast. So the alternates know soon if they can get in the program.
