I believe when they do the letter electronically, you or they don't need to actually send in any paper letters. I am so confused!

By the way, I submitted and paid for my app fees, even though I'm waiting to hear for them to receive the transcript info. Hopefully I did that right!

I just checked the website, and here is the FAQ you were talking about. I believe if you do the electronic letter, you do not see the option of printing a request form. I am thinking if you do the electronic letter, as long as the reference followed the directions in the link they were sent and filled in the info correctly, we'll be alright. I did electronic references too.

  1. Login to your NursingCAS application, and select the Institutions Attended folder from the Application Checklist
  2. To the right of the Reference Name, you'll find the link for the Reference Request Form.
  3. Click the link associated with evaluator for whom you want to print a Reference Request form, which looks like this: This will initiate the download of a PDF file. You will need the Adobe Acrobat Reader to view and print the File.
  4. Print out, sign the first page, and then send to your evaluator to complete the rest of the form.
  5. Be sure to advise your evaluator to send the Reference Request Form with an official letter of recommendation directly to NursingCAS.

Thank you! NursingCAS just emailed me back with the same thing. And yes, you did it right; according to the site you can send in your application whenever it's ready, even before all transcripts are in.

I wonder if it is a rolling admissions, meaning to me at least, that they are able to receive the applications and review them as they come in or if they have to wait until the deadline to get the from NursingCAS. Does anyone know the answer to this?

It'd be interesting to know if it is a rolling admission process... Also, I was reviewing my GPA Calculations page on my application and it doesn't show my last 60 units GPA.

It shows

Lower & Upper Division

Post Bacc

Cum Undergrad

Grad

Total

& then each of the subsections of classes individually...

Now until October- Sigh

That's because it is a generic site for applications. I asked one of the admissions counselors and they said they get a print out of the last 60 and they also get a print off of the pre recs they requrie for admission. I hope this puts you a litte more at ease, i know it did for me.

Yes, makes much more sense... TY- Is anyone applying to the Sac cohort?

I'm applying to the Sac cohort, hopefully I can turn in my application on Wednesday!

Good! Well good luck!!! What are your stats?

According to my online app-

undergrad GPA is 3.5

science GPA is 3.35

Teas was 84 (I think)

Last 60 is 3.74

My GPA is a 3.49

Science 3.67

Teas 84.1

I'm finising up A&P II, Pharmacology and a Patho class in the fall. I'm volunteering at a free clinic in Champaign, IL and shadowing the nursing staff. I just finished my CPR for healthcare providers course and my references are in! I'm really happy/lucky to be volunteering at this clinic, it's a great place for people in my area that are uninsured or underinsured to get healthcare.

All the way from IL huh?? Do you have family out here?

Our stats are pretty similar (minus the science UGH, which Patho brought me down)

I have worked in the Telemetry and SNF areas in a hospital during nursing school.

I also mentored highschool students and did alot of volunteer work with the Salvation Army, because of my ex-bf.

I am taking Interpersonal Communication this summer- somehow never managed to get one of those in my five years of college...

*I loved Pharmacology*

Yea all the way from IL. I do have family in the bay area and I just loved Sac when i visited it last year and then again this year. My boyfriend just graduated Law School and is sitting for the California bar this July. We went apartment shopping and we could not believe the prices compared to Chicago. I really hope I get in!
