Sac State Fall 2013 Applicants

Hello Everyone,

I am about to send in my application to CSU Sacramento for Fall 13 and was wondering if there are any other people in the same predicament. Would love love to hear your experiences as well.

I am applying to East Bay, Stanislaus, SFSU, Fresno, Bakersfield, SJDC, and LMC. The last two being community colleges. Really hoping for Sac though!

Do you have a preference amongst the schools you are applying for critter55?

Btw, are you guys putting an actual hard copy of your unofficial transcripts with your application or are you having them sent from your schools?

Oh my..I plan on sending mine tomorrow.. I think I've been holding on to it a little too long. I intend to just enclose the official transcripts with the applications..Did you all put the official transcripts in a different envelope?

And hello Critter55. I also applied to Stanislaus and Bakersfield..of course Sac State is my first choice, so my fingers are crossed!!

I am including sealed official transcripts in the envelope with my application.

I am also planning on sending mine tomorrow! It has been hard finding the time to go get an official transcript from my high school.

The only items I am sending separately are the application fee payment and form (to its own destination of course) and the official copy of my TEAS score, since I took it elsewhere.

I am very nervous about sending in my application! Trying to make sure I am not forgetting anything... I also have to figure out how to get that Certificate of Mailing. I expect the postal workers will help me.

I would like to include hard copies of my transcripts but I have 5 different transcripts to include! Well maybe I will include the 4 I can hunt down. The other is from San Francisco and I don't plan on driving down there just for a transcript. I think I'm going to get everything done today and hopefully send mine tomorrow or the day after.

Btw, do you guys know I'd there is any way of us determining if our high school qualifies for the disadvantaged environmental background? I really have no idea if mine does.

Nurseinthemaking20: I am not entirely sure I qualify for the environmental background either. They stated that it was based on the API Base Report, but nothing more specific. So, I looked up my high school's API Base Reports for the years I attended and the most recent report, and I found that my high school is one of the bottom schools in the state according to the rating, so I think I have a good shot at getting the points.

Have you checked out your school?

Yeah I checked it. I attended high school in the Sacramento area. The API score for my school was about 750. But I don't really know how to interpret this. They ranked schools in this area on a scale from one to ten with ten being the best. They ranked my school in the 7 range. But I really don't know how to interpret this.

A rank of 7 puts your school in the 7th decile, meaning your school scored better or the same as 70% of similar schools. I kind of think of it like a weighted grade, so your school basically got a C when compared to similar schools.

I don't know what Sac State is specifically looking at though, or how low a school needs to be. I think I will send an email asking, just to be sure.

Thanks for that info. Please do let me know what they say. I don't want to try and apply for the points if I'm completely off base. I dont want them to think in trying to get extra points I don't deserve.
