I GOT ACCEPTED TO A new LVN PROGRAM(2 EVENINGS A WEEK AND ALL DAY SAT). I WAS IN ANOTHER ONE ,THAT FELT AS IF THEY DID NOT CARE IF YOU HAD A CLEAR UNDERSTANDING OF ANY SUBJECT

Specializes in psych. rehab nursing, float pool.

While I have loved being an LPN for 30 years, I recommend for anyone to go start for Rn if at all possible. Reasons are numerous as posted in so many areas of of this web site.

Specializes in Nephrology, Cardiology, ER, ICU.

I was an LPN from 1992 to 1994 and yes, YES, yes, do the RN program because it gives you more options.

I was an LPN between 1999 to 2003! If you could get into an RN Program, I think you should go for it. In my case, it was so hard for me to get into an RN Program in New York City, so I went to an Adult LPN Program. I would have skipped the LPN Program if an RN Program accepted me.

As an RN, you could go for ER/Trauma, ICU, PACU and many more!

Good luck!

I agree if you do get accepted to an RN program do it. I was on many waiting lists, so I decided to do the LVN program in the mean time so I can keep learning and not loose it all...and it's at my pace so it works for me...good luck!
