U.S.A. California

I just like to start a new thread for spring 13 cohort. Currently, I'm invited to take the TEAS test on Friday, Nov 9th (update: just received an email that date has been changed to 16th). For those of you that applied for spring 13, let's keep all related info on this thread and I will help out if you got any questions.

Good luck on the test!

I'm sure you will be fine... Did you check your spam? Maybe call the nursing dept. and see if the counselOr can help you?

I called and she didn't help. She just said to come Mon and talk to him. She doesn't know anything about it. She only has the list of alternates in front of her. He did not leave the list of those already accepted. Oh and malia09 so u probably won't get email today cuz he is not there. Maybe he is waiting till Monday to see who shows up. See u Mon

JakeandJoshysmom, I received the acceptance email yesterday right after I called -----------.

I got accepted to be an alternate!! Sooo excited lol. Praying that I actually get in because I already celebrated like I did lol. He said to come to intake hopefully by then he will know if a few spots are open. See ya'll monday!!

Ugggh...I'm so worried. What if I misunderstood??? But he did say congratulations I am going to send u another email right now. I wish he was there today so I could have peace of mind. Oh well I will just come Monday and see him. Is there anything in the email I should know ?

Yes, bring your social security card and driver license.

Thanks for the info :)

Total amount I spent on books include one pre-order: $567.46

Bought from amazon.com as brand new, let me know if you got better deal.

Hello everyone. I just finished my second semester, N12, at RCC. Don't lose hope if you're an alternate. This past class of N11 students went completely through there alternate list. As a matter of fact, two students were added the first week of school and they were completely denied, not even on the alternate list. The alternates go to the orientation, but don't pay for the background check. Many alternates still do the health clearance so they're right on board. I would recommend saving your money now and be prepared to spend about $1,500, which includes most of the supplies for the entire program. Good luck!

Are these the books for just the first semester or the entire program ??

For the next two years :) You can save $100 or so purchasing used books.

Almost the entire program. We don't have the gerontological text. In 2nd semester there's a med-surg book, a Psych book in 3rd, and I believe a Critical Care book in 4th. The start up cost include text books, some medical expenses, your background check, American Data Bank account, supply bag with supplies, ATI package, and uniforms.
