Review centers vs Self review

Anyone wanna share their experiences?

Is it really worth enrolling in a review center and spend $$$ to pass the nclex? Or self review works as well?

I believe this is highly dependent on the person. I did very well in school and opted to skip formal and costly reviews - passed NCLEX on the first attempt in 75 questions. I have also taken certification exams and have passed without formal review sessions as well. However, if a student struggled with exams in school, these reviews may prove to be very valuable.

if you are a rockstar with exams in nursing school, you will probably do well with studying on your own. If you are struggling or have test anxiety, take the review session.

If you studied and did well in a US school it can go either way, especially since over. 85% of US educated nurses pass the NCLEX on first attempt.

If an IEN you likely need a review targeted for IENs as internationally educated nurses have a dismal pass rate of

This is true for NCLEX-RN and NCLEX-PN

I would first recommend that you try on ur own by devoting so many hours a day to study and see how it goes. If you buy the review books and you don't get much wrong or you understand there explanations than it would be a huge waste of money to go to a review center. But if you find a lot confusing or you realize it's over ur head than a review may be a good idea. Best of luck!! :D

I believe in focusing on test taking strategies/tricks, (most of these exams are standardized critical thinking test format) having a study buddy and create self test questions similar to the exam, you should be fine. Repetition and active learning :)
