has anyone applied to pasadena's rn program for fall 2013? has anyone been accepted into east pasadena's rn program? if so what was your pre-reqs grades? mines aren't all that great that's why i am so worried i will not get in because my pre-reqs gpa is only 2.79...do i even have a chance at getting in? please advise...so stressed out :( im not a bad student... i just don't have the time to study like im supposed to...i am a working full time single mother with two children and couldn't dedicate my time to so much studying...i was lucky if i even got 10 hours of studying a week

ShyeoftheTiger,

that's funny. Sacramento is in California. =)

Haha tell that to PCC!

Do you know if that was to hear if we were accepted or to take the teas test?

I got my PCC (school not ADN) registration info but they have me listed as an out of state student! Despite popular SoCal belief, Sacramento is still part of California!

I believe it will be to take the TEAS or to submit your existing score...that's a good question though. I would imagine it would just be to say you made the cut and can take the TEAS, but not sure if that means acceptance:nailbiting:...

congrats to doing well on your pre-reqs...i am also so anxious to find out about pcc...it's driving me nuts :/ best of luck to you too!! i will keep you posted

rebeccles

hopefully you get in this time around...i wish you nothing but the best of luck...how did you do on your pre-reqs and overall gpa if you don't mind me asking? i sure do hope they let us know sooner, this wait is dragging my life

hey everyone i called pcc today and they said we should hear something in about 2 to 3 weeks and their selection processed is based on lottery/random selection...they are not based on points so that's a good thing for me because my gpa is not the bomb at all...they said a 2.5 student or a 4.0 student has the same chances of getting in so it's all about luck and i believe most important of all God's work. i have hope...good luck everyone!!!! keep in touch.

My science gpa is 4.0, all at PCC. My overall is lower, though not abysmal. I've never actually calculated my gpa overall. My guess is in the neighborhood of a 3.2-3.4. First and only attempt at TEAS V was a 95.3. Still I didn't get in last year. I really thought it would somehow magically work out for me, in spite of all the programs being so impacted. How naive is THAT? lol I've decided that if it doesn't happen for me this year, I'll be putting together a DIY premed postbacc. I would need to complete a whole lot of science credits and then take MCATs, but *what the hell* I love science and I generally test really well. To hell with waiting around another year! Nursing school would be great, but med school wouldn't be bad, either. If I have to stress about getting in or not getting in and then have to wait around anyway, why not just do med school?

ETA: Thanks for the good luck vibes and best of luck to everyone else, also. I really hope I don't sound like I have sour grapes. I just got so invested in things working out last year; it was a bit baffling and disappointing, to say the least.

I don't think you sound like you have sour grapes :) the lottery system is, by definition, a crapshoot haha

May the odds be ever in your favor ;)

Thanks, Shye! I was concerned I was coming across as a major A hole.

And may the odds also be ever in your favor.

And may you never be stuck paying out of state tuition in a state where you actually reside! :)

Rebeccles wow your stats are really good! Have u tried applying at rcc because u have a good chance at getting in based on ur gradesvand teas and rcc is a wonderful school! They are based on points and your points are high

That's really great news. Thanks for the tip! Unfortunately I really have to stay close to home; I have kiddos and Mr. Rebeccles travels for work a lot. Riverside is just plain too far for me. I applied to Glendale and PCC again because they are both close to my house. Hopefully someone else can use that tidbit about RCC to their advantage. Fingers crossed that things work out for us all this year!

I turned my in before May 1st but not sure it was there before Feb.20. I was moving to southern california at the time and was unsure if I was going to be apply up in Sacramento or southern California.

I'm pretty sure it was March 1st and that the February 20th was from a previous application period... If you got it in by then I'm sure you're fine :)
