Pasadena City College RN program

U.S.A. California

Published

Hi,

I've heard that it's not recommended to work while enrolled as a student in an RN program. I'm applying for the Spring Semester at PCC and while I do intend to leave my current employer should I be accepted, I was wondering if there were people who made the attempt to work part-time or possibly in the summer.

Any opinions?

Thanks!

pcc nursing program is very hard. i'm in the 3rd semester. we had 3 exams so far. average scores of two exams were below 75%.

wow! i finished my LVN program at pcc last 2008 so i know the system already. goodluck elsereojp!

For the record, the LVN and RN programs are completely separate. I bridged in with a large amount of PCC LVN grads and no one was prepared for what we're going through. I was always one of those people who shrugged when others talked about how hard the RN program is, figuring "Oh well. It won't be that bad for me.", because hey, I've always done well and saw no reason to worry.

Fast forward to now and I'm barely passing as are many of us. I've never done this poorly in school ever, and there are some in my class who would argue I shouldn't complain because at least I'm passing. Be ready to spend any and all spare time you have reading, or feeling guilty if you're NOT reading. Speaking of which...time to go study some more.

Hello everyone,

i received an email on the 6th stating that i was chosen as an alternate. What are my chances of making it into the program? Any info would be apprecited :) im just glad i have a chance of making it!!

Me too. I wonder if they even send out rejection letters?? Or do they just send "you've been chosen as an alternate" as a nice way of telling us, we havn't been chosen?? I hope not. I hope we have a chance. :barf02:

They will let you know if you've been rejected. I applied last semester and received a rejection letter. Thats why im hopeful i'll get in this time :)
