Palomar RN New Grad Program

U.S.A. California

Wondering who else out there applied to the Palomar new grad program in San Diego? The application went up at 7 this morning, and I just checked at 11:45 AM and its already disappeared. Good luck to those applying. Lets comment and commiserate :)

Yep, my letters of recommendation and copy of BLS card are sent. Anyone receive the official call yet with more details??

I sent mine in last night as well!! The email stated that they would be in touch with us within the next week. I'm just keeping that in mind because I'm going a little nutty with this wait! :woot: I know of one person who got a call but she got her stuff in like a minute after the email was sent out. I'm assuming that the recruiter was already by the computer and decided to just call her. I haven't heard of anyone else receiving a call. A lot of people that read my email have stated that we pretty much are in...I think the call is just to tell us which department we are going into! After all, it does say "I will be in touch with you within the next week regarding the position".

Specializes in Hospice & Palliative Care, Oncology, M/S.

How exciting!!! I look forward to reading all of the thrilled "OMG" messages. LOL

I am guessing they got overwhelmed with all the paperwork that people sent in on Thursday. They probably figured it would be more efficient if they just informed everyone on the same day.

I had copies of all my recommendation letters & life support cards in my portfolio. But they didnt forward it & still wanted me to send another copy to the other person. So I went to pick up my portfolio today, and the lady said that they increased the acceptance pool to around 36 people! That was a gigantic jump and pretty much increased everyone's chances. So they pretty much accepted half of the people they interviewed. I am ecstatic! So I think once the background check goes through and they have all our recommendations, then we are in! I don't think they will be cutting more people unless something is not cleared/provided.

Oh wow! What great news! I'm so excited! This is definitely becoming more of a reality! What departments did you all request?

I would ideally want the ED (someday :T), but requested Med-Surg/Tele to start off as a new grad.

Nice! I forgot to say that I suggested ICU and Med/Surg :)

I will feel so much more confident once I'm officially called too! I really can't wait to meet everybody! Were any of you in the 0900 interview group? I thought everyone was so nice and genuine which was impressive giving the seemingly 'cut-throat' nature of our interview. Anyone else still pinching themselves that this is real!!?

Will anyone here be commuting south on the 15 FWY to Palomar as opposed to coming up from SD?

I got a call today and was offered a job for the residency program. So excited!! :]

I got the call too! Can't wait to meet everyone!
