National University Accelerated BSN

U.S.A. California

Hi Everyone:

I am currently in the process of trying to get into national university's ABSN program for the fall 2009 at L.A location, anyone who has gotten into the program (both L.A and S.D) before or still in the process of applying, I would really appreciate any feedback from all of you guys about your general status (overall GPA, TEAS, etc) or your insight about this program overall. I feel like nowadays every nursing program becomes a lot more competitive than before, even for the private schools. So any feedback or comment would be very welcome from all of you guys, Thank you.

I haven't gotten all my books ready to go yet unfortunately. HOpefully i could get them before the start of the program.

Hi guys,

I am in cohort 2 with you, and unfortunately I don't know about our class either. I keep checking SOAR to see if it is updated, and not too much has changed on mine.

About books, I bought the required text and lab manual a week or so ago, and just got them. I didn't get any of the optional ones though.

Also, I am confused about our tuition. Does anyone know how we pay it and when?

Thanks!

Hi Michelle,

I've got all my books as well & have already started w/ the readings. The only book I didn't get was Mosby's (optional book), but I'm still debating if I should get it or not. If I'm not mistaken, we pay our tuition via SOAR & I think we're able to start paying on October 26?

Oh ok, that makes sense. I was trying to figure out why I am enrolled in all the classes, but still have a balance of zero. Thanks. :)

This is Charles. I am cohort 2, as far as the first day of class, I am guessing their will be a sign like at orientation that will inform you what room the first class will be held. I spoke to financial/billing department; they told me not to worry about finances. They informed me that 99% of students start their classes with their financial aid still pending. So don't worry. As far as how much you owe for tuition, the actual amount you owe will be posted in 1-2 weeks, before school starts. See everyone in class. Good luck!

Yo Charles, how is it going, this is Eddy if you still recall. Just want to know seriously if everybody already started studying? That would be too unbelievable for me as I have done absolutely nothing as far as studying is concerned, I have not even gotten together all the required books yet at this moment. Good luck everyone to those who have already started reading, and also to the ones who are still in the same boat with me, we better form some study groups together when program starts. LOL

Hi everyone,

Does any of you get accepted with GPA 2.75 and sciences courses with c average? thank you.

I am extremly nervious. I was on my way to a 3.5 gpa when I received an average grade in my last class which brought my gpa down to a 3.0. tomorrow I submit my application to national university bsn nursing program and im nervous because of the drop in my gpa. does any one know the gpa average acceptance into their program?

Hello all,

I am looking into the accelerated BSN program as well, but have not called for info just yet. I was curious if anyone knew if the program had evening classes or strictly day classes. On other websites, they state that National University has evening classes for the BSN, but thought I'd ask those of you that have already applied and spoken to counselors. I still need to do all the prerequisites but like the accelerated format, already have an MBA(healthcare admin). Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance :)

Hello! Does anyone here know how much it costs for the BSN program? and if their credits are transferable for a masters later on?

I'm also considering Kaplan college. I'm trying to decide which school to go to, since I don't want to be on a wait list for 3 years.

Thanks!!!

Bryanc4321:

Speaking for the LA campus, you won't get to decide if you prefer to take classes strictly during the day or evening; you pretty much have to be flexible around their schedule. This is why they discourage students working while in the program (not to mention how overwhelming & demanding the program is in itself). Theory classes are typically held every Mondays & finals on a Saturday. Clinicals are anytime in between. Exceptions are Health Assessment & Pharma.

Anaf:

Tuition cost is ~$37K (excluding your books, living expenses, etc.). If you get accepted to the program, you have to pay an orientation fee of $1395, out of pocket. Since NU is WASC & CCNE accredited, credits are transferrable.

Hi Pinky687,

I am hoping to get into the May 2010 nursing program at National in Fresno, however, I will need to take the TEAS test sometime in Jan and was wondering if you could possibly give me some hints on things that I should study? Thank you for your time. Any information that your could provide would be greatly appreciated. Also since I am new to this forum and do not have 15 posts yet I can not send you a personal mail from this site so maybe you can please email me, Thank you.
