Mercy Medical in Redding New Grad

U.S.A. California

Published

Hi new grads! Just wondering if anyone else applied to Mercy Medical Center in Redding's new grad program. My application got sent to the manager... My fingers are crossed!

Thank you for that info Pishiii!

Thanks!! so the odds aren't too bad....eeek! I'm so excited/nervous!

I guess you could look at it like a 50/50 shot! :p I know the feeling, though. I am super nervous, too!

I got a call earlier this morning for an interview as well! Happy to have made it to an interview if they said they are only selecting 40 of 700 or so applicants! Excited and nervous! :) Good luck to everyone still waiting for a call!

Congrats to those with interviews! Still waiting for an update, the suspense just might kill me!

I noticed on the job posting page that it is 80 hours per pay period with 8 hour shifts? Anyone know anything about this? Is the 8 hours permenant can we switch to 12's after we finish our preceptorship.

Fairly certain that they do 12 hour shifts at Mercy Redding. I have a friend in the local nursing program who did some clinical hours there and she said it was 12 hour shifts. Sooooo, I decided to do some "research" and looked up all regular staff positions for hire at Mercy Redding on the DH website, and all the floor positions are 12 hour shifts. YAY! It would probably be easier to just call and ask, but I felt I have bugged the HR office enough already. LOL

For those of you from Sacramento who got interviews, if you are offered the position what are your plans as far as relocating? I live in Rocklin and have an interview also, and I'm trying to get ideas about moving.

I haven't even thought about the relocation portion for the job, and I'm coming from San Diego to interview. I'm excited but it's a trek just too get up to Redding. I'm excited for the opportunity to interview, although I feel like I'm going to go broke with these interviews. I hate to ask, anyone know the salary they start new grad nurses at?

They told me we would hear around May 6th...is that what they told you guys too?? Not sure I really even want to move to redding but would like to know soon!

What I was told was that they would be doing interviews until May 3rd and would be notifying after that which is pretty close to May 6th. Redding really isn't ideal is it? But it is a RN job in California which seem to be few and far between for new grads these days! Good luck to everyone who has/is interviewing.

I have a classmate that was just offered one of the positions today.

^dang before all of the interviews are done?
