Hello all, is anybody applying to Los Medanos CC for fall 2011. I just sent in my application with my fingers crossed:up:

I am also revisiting this thread as I have applied again to LMC. The recording in the department says that there is no specific date yet, though a clerk in admissions mentioned mid-May. No-go for Marin and Ohlone but well positioned on the alternate list at Contra Costa this time, so fingers are gently crossed. Now we wait for LMC.

Well, I hope you end up having the same luck I had last year! I was alternate #15, and I am now nearly 1/2 done with LMC's program. Woot woot!! I believe they may be waiting to announce the results because they need to know their budget first, as this will definitely influence the number of students they can accept. Good luck!!

At number 5 on the alternate list at CCC, I think there's a good chance. We will see what LMC says. Yes, indeed you were #15...I checked the list for you when I went out there last year! :-)

A friend of mine just posted on facebook that LMC isnt happening for her.... maybe she got a rejection letter? Meaning she didn't meet requirments?

There has been no recent communication from LMC, and the recording in the N dept. says that no date has yet been set for selection (they should get to it already!!). Perhaps she didn't meet reqs or something about her app was incomplete (?) The recording says that they will email/snail mail when the date is announced.

Apparently she recieved a rejection letter from LMC for the LVN program. I guess she failed to mail in a high school transcript. I didnt apply to the LVN program, but I did not know you were required to do so? Maybe she took a required course in high school? I don't know. I'm just assuming I'll know one way or the other within the next month :/ I'm kinda happy I don't know which day it is, too many sleepless nights. I might have my husband open any future mail from LMC and suprise me when the big day comes! Save myself from the anxiety!:uhoh3:

yes, just looked it up HS transcripts are required for the LVN program.

Good luck you guys. We have finals next week and perhaps they will have time to focus on the selection for the class of 2014 when that is over. Things are pretty hectic right now. Also, they have lots going on with regard to hiring. One instructor is retiring, they are already down both an instructor for first year and a director. It is a great program however! Hang in there.

Thanks for the update on all the activity, it sounds like the N dept. has a full plate.

If last year's timing is any indicator, perhaps there will be news in the next couple of days. I received my letter announcing the 2011 lottery on May 19th last year. The very nice clerk in the Nursing office said as of this morning that the Admissions dept. was still reviewing apps, which sounds as though there must be quite a few!

I got an email today! The results will be post on wednesday may 30th at 5pm! Outside the nursing door!
