hello willowita,

thank you so much for your input. Yes, Im more than ready to start Nursing. I just got letter from Glendale today, again, alternate just like LA HARBOR (seriously ?!?!? lol). But i wont go there since it's too far. My friend got accepted letter today too. I dont know if you hear from them yet?

I wish you good luck. and Im sure you will get into County since your GPA and Teas are pretty competitive.

I saw you guys posting in the GCC thread so I had my bf check the mail. I got accepted into the weekend/evening program at GCC. But I'm not sure what to do now. I hate the parking at GCC and the distance is the same for me as going to Harbor. They NCLEX pass rates seem to fluctuate between 2006 and now. Harbor seems to have more steady scores. But I really like Glendale the city and my family lives over there. So I wouldn't mind moving. I'll have to talk it over with my family.

yeah.. nursing building @ glendale is very nice. I love GLENDALE city. it seems clean and safe there. But Im not a big fan of the parking.

I talked to my counselor. she said any school with 80% or higher (nlexc) is good. Nursing is all about you got what you put in. so, congrats again :D R.N future. haha

Hi :)

* hnguyen509 - she didn't mention orientation. She made it sounds like alternatives don't have a prayer of getting in, it's more likely that Spring will work out since they aren't accepting applications from anybody with repeated science courses. I'm not giving up though :) Staying positive I will get in.

* Willowita - I'm not rushing because I am married, have two children and work in healthcare at a local hospital and love my job so much that I won't quit. This makes me certain that commuting will push me over the edge, given how many commitments I already have. I already have a B.S., so my BSN can be completed very quickly online, thus even more reason to just wait it out for Harbor since they're close to my home. Have you heard from County yet??

Hi LovetheER,

Yeah, it sounds like waiting for Harbor would be a better choice for you. I totally feel you on commuting further. It can definitely be stressful and I can't imagine it with all your other commitments. I hope you get in for Spring!

County should let us know by early June. They're taking forever!

I feel so bad for you that they're taking so long :( I'm so sorry!

So I got a postcard from LA Harbor stating that I qualify for the board of governor's fee waiver. I didn't think I would but now I feel better that I won't have to worry about tuition.

Orientation day is coming up later this month. Am I the only one getting scared now?

I'm getting more excited than scared willoweta... I am kind of nervous that I won't remember all my prereq info. I keep telling myself I need to brush up on A&P, but then I have to start organizing for the move too.

MMorisawa, I was thinking the same thing today about reviewing A&P. I definitely will do that during the summer.

I guess I'm excited too but also scared. It's going to be tough to be an unemployed student again but I gotta do what I gotta do. I'm sure you understand, since you're moving down the state to be a nurse :)

Good luck on your move!

LAHC isn't taking people with repeated sciences??? :(

The initiative to reject all applicants with repeated science courses (I think it's just for Anatomy, Physio and Micro) should start for Spring 2013, according to what my contact in LAHC's nursing department told me.
