I can see that nobody has posted however I have the same question. I am thinking about applying once I have my pre-requisites completed however I have not heard one thing, good or bad, about this program! Any feedback? anyone?

Hey I am inthe program now and it is great. After your finish your pre-recs apply. The faculty is great and we have first dibs on all the clinical sites. Let me know if you have any questions about the program.

Great! That is good to know. I will definitely apply once I'm done with my pre-requisites. Is it hard to get into? From what I understand, it's point system so good grades are key. Do you have to get A's in everything, or is a 3.0 good enough? How competitive is it?

Not sure if your still reading this. I am graduating from this school in a couple of weeks. It is very hard. I think they have made some changes to make it a bit easier though. We do all our clinicals at usc medical center, which wont be too bad now that the new hospital is finished. I know that as a 4th semester student you are expected to take five pts and at other schools they only took 2. So you are really prepared when you get out there. And yes it is point system and I had all A's going in and am not sure what everyone else had. Good luck to you! They say if you graduate from county, hospitals want you from all over as it well known to produce excellent nurses.

I just got accepted to County's nursing program and I have to tell them by Friday whether or not I am going to attend. I was really interested in attending until I found out that they are not accredited by the NLNAC or CCNE. This could present a problem when applying to BSN/Graduate problems. Can anyone speak to this issue? Thanks a lot in advance for any info.

No, it wouldn't present a problem. I have many colleagues that attended this school and went on to receive their masters. It is a great program and I will personally vouch for this school. Most graduate/bsn programs only care about if you have your license and where you worked. Believe me. Hopefully this helps.

Does anyone know how many points they had when they went in. There are 93
total points possible, how many points do most people have.

I dont remember I think I had alot because I got all A's in my sciences - but some ppl got in with less than I did. To answer the question about NLNAC and CCNE from what I see only BSN programs at universities are accredited.

I am getting all A's in my science classes but I won't have the rest of the pre reqs done so i won't have as many points that why I am asking. If i get a perfect score on the skills test I can get a maximum of 78 points.

the skills test is nuts. I thought i flunked it but ended up getting a 13+ grade level on it. Dont worry if you think you did bad on it after you take it. Just call and ask the office (maria cabellero) what the average number of pts you need to get in is. They will tell you.

I got in and I only had 83 points. Definitely try. I didn't get all A's in the pre reqs and now I am in 4th semester about to graduate in May 27 , 2009 it can be done.

i just got my results today for the entrance exam and passed!!and I have a total of 80 points I hope this is is good enough to get in. but a friend of mine is attending there now and she said the cut off was 71 points so 78 is pretty competitive. Did you already take the pre entrance exams?
