Long term acute-- not considered an acute experience??

Im working at a Long term acute care Hospital in Monrovia for 1 year but unfortunately its too far from out apartment so I decided to apply in an acute hospital near our place. I got a call from 2 acute hospitals that I applied with.They told me that they would not consider LTAC as an acute experience.They told me that is better for me to apply at sub acute.I even told them that I'll be willing to be trained if ever I'll be hired. Is it possible that I'll be hired at any acute hospital?
