Has anyone interviewed for peds services at LAC+USC? I know you can't really talk about the interview process but I'm wondering how much peds I should know for this interview this week! My RN school rotation was only 4 weeks so I feel like I have A LOT to learn!

Well make sure you don't say that. they will train you, so don't worry about that. I think interview is based on basic nursing questions. If you passed nclex, then you should be able to answer the interview questions. Be yourself - show personality, play off knowledge you do know, and your willingness to learn. Gl!

@LnMaR: haha i def wouldn't say that in an interview! Have you started with your orientation yet? How long has this journey been for you (I hear it takes a while)?

NICU/PEDS are essentially the same. They don't really ask for specific peds knowledge but more about what type of nurse you are. Can you handle the pressure and if you suit well with the team. Don't sweat about your peds expertise, they don't expect you to be.

RN_Mom, how does the application process for a new grad at LAUSC start? I graduate my RN program in May and just want to get a heads up on where to start for their next new grad program

You have to take the Civil Service Exam for RN I. Which I think they're not accepting any applications for the exam right now.

@RN_Mom They said that they'll give us a start date when we finish all the pre-employment procedures

    Congratulations to us!

It took 1 week before I received my results then they scheduled me for the physical exam.

I hope I pass my physical exam.

    Hi all,
Congrats to those of you who were hired! I'm graduating in May and I would love to work at LA+USC. I'm having a hard time figuring out where to even look to see where the position would be posted!

    Any help is highly appreciated!
