LAC+USC interview new grad RN - Page 40
Register Today!- May 30, '12 by CoCStudentNurseQuote from RNBSN22I had my interview on January 31st and just got my letter on May 17th. And it's not just LAC + USC that is not hiring, it's all the hospitals in the county system. They are all not offering any positions for new grads and don't know when they will be. Good luck to you, too!Hi CoCStudentNurse,
Can you tell me what day you had your January interview? I'm wondering because I had my RN I exam interview February 2......it would at least give me a bit of an idea as to when I'll be receiving my eligibility letter. I'm getting tired of stalking my mailbox and being let down every time I check it
.
Thanks so much, and good luck! I'm sure positions will be opening soon. It's such a large hospital....they have to keep it staffed somehow!Last edit by CoCStudentNurse on May 30, '12 : Reason: typoRNBSN22 likes this. -
- May 31, '12 by CoCStudentNurseNope. They do not tell you that until you are offered a job. I just had a civil interview and am waiting to be contacted for an interview with a nursing manager.
- May 31, '12 by watermelon21CoCStudentNurse: oh i see. I had a question regarding the civil service exam for RN I. Do we need to study lab values, meds, intervention and diseases again? Like do they give I clinical scenarios where you have to give them your implementation? Or is it just general questions like telling them about yourself and your goals, strength/weakness, why you want to work there and etc?

They had me sign a confidentiality waiver and won't hire me if they hear I broke it.CoCStudentNurse: oh i see. I had a question regarding the civil service exam for RN I. - Jun 1, '12 by RNBSN22Thanks for the info. Wow.....I wonder why I haven't gotten a letter yet. So frustrating. My second question is this, do you remember what day you reapplied online? It seems as if the wait time for the certification letter was started over for everyone because of it. I'm frustrated too because I have been an RN for over 8 years, but since I am a non-employee, I have to run around in circles just as much. I'll probably give them a call tomorrow to see what's going on. They're probably sick of me. Oh well!

Have you thought about or reapplied anywhere else? - Jun 1, '12 by RNBSN22thanks for the info. wow.....i wonder why i haven't gotten a letter yet. so frustrating. my second question is this, do you remember what day you reapplied online? it seems as if the wait time for the certification letter was started over for everyone because of it. i'm frustrated too because i have been an rn for over 8 years, but since i am a non-employee, i have to run around in circles just as much. i'll probably give them a call tomorrow to see what's going on. they're probably sick of me. oh well!

Yes, it's hard to believe that the economy has even affected the nursing job market. I currently work in Labor and Delivery, and I honestly cannot remember the last time we hired new grads
. Same for the hospital, it's really hard right now. But hang in there! You came this far.....a position will turn up for you! Keep us updated on your journey!
- Jun 6, '12 by CoCStudentNurseI just got called to interview on Friday for a Med/Surg position at LAC + USC!
Now I'm nervous... is the 2nd interview like the civil interview? Anyone know the type of questions asked? They said it's initially a temporary position that may roll over into permanent, but heck, I'll take anything I can get at this point. I really want to nail this interview so any tips you guys have would be great. Also, does anyone know if they quiz you on the particular specialty? Should I review my Med/Surg info.? LOL, sorry for so many questions... I'm just nervous and excited.
Any help would be appreciated.
