U.S.A. California

Hey guys, I have a question. I had an interview with LAC+USC and received a letter that I passed the oral exam. I read in the letter that they are going to contact me if positions open up. I am a new grad RN. Have you been in my situation? How long does it take until they call you? Do we have another interview after the oral interview or this is it? Please share your experience with me..thank you

I got my letter today... And so... The hunt begins.:uhoh3:

Hey guys!!! Sorry I've been MIA, but I finally got the call! I got hired in Peds! But like everyone else, there is no start date. I'm so happy though! :)

^ congratulations at least the worst is over right?

What hospital did you get hired in? USC?

Ya, call the Nurse Recruitment and see if there's anything you can interview for. That's how I got most of my interviews. Good luck!

YAY, I got my letter today too! I have already been calling Harbor and now I can expand my search to the other hospitals. I hope we both get hired soon!

YAY!! I am so excited for you. :yeah:I really want Peds or NICU too! How long did it take after the interview before they called you? Do you know if anyone else is starting with you? Good luck with the process and keep us informed!

I interviewed for peds almost 3 weeks ago. I spoke to the recruiter last week and she told me they were really interested in hiring me for Peds, but they were waiting on something.. Maybe the budget? Anyways, I go in to sign paperwork tomorrow. Hopefully I get to start by January. Call every week to see what you can interview for. Good luck!

@ Nurse Jaydee, did you have PALS when you applied for peds?

@RNTriathlete! Yes! Cheers to letters haha! Here's to hoping for openings ---and budgets for all!

Found some articles on the "budget" the LAC+USC nurse recruiters and HR have been blaming this Long Wait for a Start Date on..

... when calling the nurse recruiter and expressing my deep concern about the plausibility of this RN SICU position even happening, she told me: "youve waited this long, just hang in there and wait a little bit longer. we're all just waiting. "

Good find, I really hope the final budget approvals will bring good news to those of us waiting on start dates... Keeping my fingers crossed!

Hey guys after being offered the position did you get a letter from HR to call them within 5 days to talk about the position or something? I just received the letter and no one is answering... Just wondering what it's about.

I got that letter too and I called a couple times before I got a call returned, it ended up being nothing since I accepted the position. I would still just make sure you talk to someone just in case, I always like to make sure I've covered everything with everyone so I don't miss something in the process.
