Kindred Hospital in So.Cal

U.S.A. California

Hi everyone,

Just curious if any of you or anyone you know has worked in any of the Kindred Hospitals in southern California? How was your experience working there? Were the hospital conditions as bad as other people say it is (that is KHs from other states)? I have an interview there tomorrow and because the hiring forecast looks bleak for us new grads, I'm just about to jump on where ever, who ever is hiring. Frankly, I'm glad to just simply land an interview !

its a long term acute. My aunt works in kindred la.She told me that I need more experience before working there. In my aunt's batch,10 of them orriented but 3 or 4 of them only survived.

gwafuh, thanks for the info. It's scary to hear about only 3 or 4 out of 10 only "survived"! But right now, I'm feeling kind of desperate to find a job. Left and right I'm hearing people having a hard time looking for a job, and this is the first place that I actually got a call back from the 6 places that I've applied to. Like my friend said, beggars can't be choosers right?

I had my med/surg 2 rotation at kindred brea and LOVED it! the patients are challenging, but as a student nurse, I handled it just fine. the way the rooms are set up there are sweet. med boxes right in the room. no need to go back and forth to a cart. while i was there, i got a lot of vent and gtube experience. if you take the position, just expect a heavier case load.
