Kaiser San Francisco

    Hey!!
Just wondering if anyone out there working for Kaiser in San Francisco can help shed some light!!
Im thinking of taking a travel nurse assignment at Kaiser so Im just wondering what the nurse to patient ratio is (im ER trained)? Are staff generally accepting of travel nurses? Is the staff a younger crowd? older? or a good mix of both? If I take this offer, whats the likelihood of being hired after my assignment is up? What kind of benefits/vacation/ mat leave do they have? What is their rate of pay for someone who have 2 years experience?

Sorry for all the questions lol any other information you can provide would be helpful too!
    Thanks!!

i worked in nurse administration for south SF and was kept in the loop of the Geary SF kaiser as well. expect to see an older bunch of nurses because they have not hired new grad RN's for quite some time now. all med surg units you will see 5 to 1 pt to nurse ratio w/ help from PCAs (nurse assistants). Tele floor 3 to 1 and ICUs 2 to 1. being a travel nurse you will get a lot of the most unwanted patients because they go by seniority. pay is very good

I'm an RN with Kaiser here in the Bay Area and the previous post was mostly accurate. I've worked in all the units in the career for the past 5 years and all the ratios remain the same:

    Med/Surg: 5 to 1
    Med/Tele: 4 to 1
    Step Down/TCU/PCU: 3 to 1
    ICU: 2 to 1
    ER: PER patient acuity
