Kaiser Permanente New Grad Interview

U.S.A. California

Hello, I have an interview with Kaiser Permanente San Diego for a new grad position (no specific unit - have to reapply to a unit after training). I was wondering what types of questions they ask - behavioral? clinical? both? Any input would be awesome. Thank you!

Hi jayecrew

Congratulations on landing an interview! I applied too but got the rejection letter on the 13th. If you don't mind sharing, are you an internal candidate? Also, are you a ASN or BSN? Anything that can help me figure out what they look for in a candidate would be great to know. Again congrats!

Hi, SD_RN! I'm actually not an internal candidate, I really feel like I got lucky! I'm from San Diego, but I went to college in Orange County and I'm back in SD now. I have my BSN. I'm really not sure what they're looking for :\ Sorry, I know that's not helpful, but Kaiser are the only ones that have called me back and I've applied every where. Good luck on the job hunting, I know it's tough out there! I'm still waiting to hear from Kaiser.

Thanks for the info. My best wishes jayecrew! From previous interviews I've been asked mostly all behavioral questions. Remember you're a new grad and will be with a preceptor so all the skills and clinical knowledge will be taught and is not expected. If clinical questions do come up though I've been told to always include your colleagues in managing an emergency or when you have questions about a procedure or how to handle something. so basically practice safety, be resourceful, and be a team player.

Let us know how it goes! :)

Ahhhh!! I got offered a position. Definitely feeling

blessed. There were 5 people (managers, educator, recruiter) and they mostly asked behavioral questions and 2 clinical questions. I felt like I was pretty prepared. I utilized my schools career services and they mock interviewed me. Thanks for the tips!!

C O N G R A T U L A T I O N S!!! :)

Good for you jayecrew! Thanks for sharing with us. About how long was the interview? Do you know where you'll be starting?

Thank you! It was about 30 minutes and I'll be starting in med-surg. Message me if you want to know what they asked in the interview! I remember most of the questions haha. And good luck to you!! They never told us the job market was harsh out there, but just keep going! You'll find the right job for you!
