Is anyone familiar with this new program, or know anyone who is currently in the first class? I'm finding mixed reviews about it online, and I just took their HESI exam today. I got a 91 overall, so I have a feeling that score won't be competitive enough to make it in the top 30 students, but I'm trying to remain optimistic!

Wow ladies!! I didn't get any e-mail notifications with this thread!! Congrats to you Erin... What wonderful news!!! I haven't received any kind of e-mail, so I wont be holding my breath, but keep us updated on your wait list status!! :)

any waitlist updates, mluisausi??

Hi ladies. Sorry for the late update. I actually got in and started my class today. Its for the march cohort.

Thanks for the update. I gotta say, I'm pretty frustrated that I scored .7 below you, and wasn't even placed on the waitlist. I wonder if it's because I have so many transferable units. Were you transferring any classes from a junior college? I almost want to call them and ask them what the deal is... I was going to test again in September for the March class to see if I could score higher, but now I'm just frustrated with the school all together! What would you girls do? What you call and try to figure out what's up? Thanks for the advice, and congratulations again to you both!

I know how you feel right now, but if I were you I would definitely try again for the March class. It's not the school's fault since they get many applicants for 30 spots. It is really competitive. I love the school and the staff are all nice and they really worked with me to get everything set up. I think I got in because somebody had dropped and I already had transferrable units for the first quarter from a junior college, and I guess due to my points too?? maybe... I didn't ask because I was too excited that I got in.. anyway, I had most of the prereqs done but had to repeat psych due to a C that I got at cc. As I was saying, try it out again this September. Don't give up, and try to score higher on the Hesi.

Oh.. and also, I don't think they send emails to waitlisted people until they have a spot available. I'm not really sure because I only found out that I was on the waitlist when I emailed the school. Let me know if you have any question, and good luck on everything.

Why don't you try another school. I applied to Carrington College California Sacramento and passed my test and got excepted. There class starts in October and they go on first come first serve basis. If ITT Tech is a 12 month program and you get into the next March class you would already be finished with school if your at CCC. If you get excepted into the October class it's 16 months and you'll be done 2 months earlier then if you were at ITT Tech.

Thanks for the comments ladies. I have all my pre-reqs done, and since I only scored .7 below you, I guess I was just surprised there was that much of a difference for such a small percent! I'm really glad that you are liking the school and the program already, that's good to hear.

To MrsMoore...I thought Carington only had an LVN program. The reason why I applied to ITT is because I'm only interested in RN programs... I just don't want to wait around for a lottery! I have all of my pre-reqs done, I just wanna get in and out!

And ITT Tech is actually a 27 month program.

Oh ok, I see. How long did it take you to complete your prereqs?

Well, I was working full time while going to school, so it took me two years to take my sciences. (General Chemistry, Micro, Anatomy & Physiology). Then I took my "easy" classes (Psych, Nutrition, Speech, Sociology, & Human Development) while taking my science classes. Sometimes it takes people longer, sometimes shorter depending on if they take summer school or not. That's why ITT was appealing to me, because my college credits from the junior college would transfer over, and I wouldn't have to retake them or anything. Also, it significantly decreased the amount I would have to pay in tuition.

Hi Mary,

I'm in the same boat as you. I also took the HESI last month and scored 90%. (MODERATOR EDIT OF NAME - PLEASE DO NOT POST NAMES OF ANYONE IN YOUR PROGRAM PER TOS) did say most likely I would not be admitted and to apply again in Sept for the next class starting March '13. It's sooo frustrating for those of us with pre-reqs completed and waiting!!! I'm definitely going to retest in Sept to bring my score up & hopefully I will be accepted.

Last week I visited Carington College and yes you will have to attend the LVN program then do the LVN bridge to RN program. The cost was going to be close to $90k (ouch) and it would take at least 32 months (not including 6 mos as working as an LVN BEFORE bridge program). Sure I could get in this October but I'm not about to get into almost 100k debt!!!

Let me know if you decide to test again in Sept. Hopefully we will be in the next class!!!

HI SLC! Sorry that you're in the same boat as me. What a crappy boat to be in! Haha. I definitely feel your frustration. Applying to the junior colleges and waiting have been awful, that's why I was really hoping to get in here! I also applied to Samuel Merritt, so we'll see what happens. I will be retesting on Sept 11th for the March class. Is that the day you will be testing? I really feel like the HESI study guide didn't help me WHATSOEVER! I got 100% in math, and did really well in grammar as well, but my vocabulary and reading comprehension brought me down a lot. I'm not really sure how I can study for those two things either!

I'm glad you decided not to go with Carington. In my opinion, it is way too much money to be spending at a school where you aren't even going to get a bachelors degree. At least at ITT Tech, it's only around 30k for those of us who have all of the other pre-reqs completed. Good luck to you, and let's keep each other updated!
