There are nurses who are from California who are getting turned away. What makes you think that a hospital is going to hire a foreign grad nurse when graduates from here aren't getting hired? That's the reality, too many graduates and little jobs available. Also if you don't have a valid visa already then that's going to make it even harder. Check out Suzannes threads on foreign graduates seeking employment in the US.

Im sure its hard for a foreign educated nurse like myself to find a job..so its better for us to passed the nclex...and most especially to have valid or proper documentation from DHS. I will be having interviews soon for RN new graduate programs at UCLA, USC and CEDARS.With less than a year of experience fromthe Philippines I know I have to start fresh inhere and that's a good thing because I wanted to start buiding a good foundation here in california. Imhoping that an equal opportunity will be given for us. Don't loose hope for foreign educated RN's..we'll soon find our place. Good luck to us. God bless

They can offer you a job, but they still can't give you a visa when none are available.

    Hi there patrick2007!

Have they already helped you with your visa processing? did you pay any fees to them? Do they need any requirements such as hospital experience?
    Thanks so much!

I heard about this site too. I am not sure if this is real. But I sent them my CV already. They replied and told me that they will schedule me for a teleconference with their CEO based in California. I will talk to him on Friday. I just want to ask if anyone tried it here too so I may know what to expect. I search the web for more information about them but I only found few forums asking the same question. Or if anyone knows other institutions who are willing to sponsor a foreign nurse please share them here. Thank you!

Yes, I already had my teleconference interview with the CEO of Affiliated Care Services. They're offering an EB3 sponsorship and you will be assigned in a Nursing Skill Facility of your chosen state or where you passed the NCLEX-RN exam. There is no placement or agency fee here and the expenses from your foreign examinations and visa screen certificate will be reimbursed once the process is complete. The only problem is that because of the retrogression they admit that the process will take 3-5 years of waiting. Hope this helps.

    Goodluck to all of us!

I checked out the website. I have to say that I'm leary of this company. I hope that someone has been placed by this company and has wonderful things to say about it. There's another agency that is accredited and I think it's like whitedove or something. There was a post about it a few months back. Good Luck

Of course the nurse must have his or her NCLEX, visa screen certificate completed, there are jobs out there, one just have to look deep, people still get sick and sicker, hospitals are busy, emergency rooms are packed with people, I believe that some of the hospitals used the economy as a scapegoat so they could save money as well, we all know about the real state, stock market loss, etc.. I guess maybe the honeymoon is over for new grads, but there are jobs out there. I remember a couple of years back it was a lot easier. Learn as much as you can, get experience, and obtain certifications, now there is a problem with the immigration at the moment , it is called retrogression especially EB3 category so many applicants, not enough staff to process and not enough visas to be processed. Still, this country is in need of nurses, no matter of what happens, the nation will always need qualified health care professionals and that is a fact. They might make some changes, nurses are needed everywhere, without us , who will implement the care of the pt? Also, who will educate future nurses, many colleges with huge waiting lists, and no capability to run classes due to the shortage of nurse educators again it goes back to the shortage right!!
Finally , I do see light in the end, I believe it will get better , and conditions will improve for all of us, but it will take a long time.
Be optimistic, study and learn as much as you can, and you ll succeed it.
