Of course the nurse must have his or her NCLEX, visa screen certificate completed, there are jobs out there, one just have to look deep, people still get sick and sicker, hospitals are busy, emergency rooms are packed with people, I believe that some of the hospitals used the economy as a scapegoat so they could save money as well, we all know about the real state, stock market loss, etc.. I guess maybe the honeymoon is over for new grads, but there are jobs out there. I remember a couple of years back it was a lot easier. Learn as much as you can, get experience, and obtain certifications, now there is a problem with the immigration at the moment , it is called retrogression especially EB3 category so many applicants, not enough staff to process and not enough visas to be processed. Still, this country is in need of nurses, no matter of what happens, the nation will always need qualified health care professionals and that is a fact. They might make some changes, nurses are needed everywhere, without us , who will implement the care of the pt? Also, who will educate future nurses, many colleges with huge waiting lists, and no capability to run classes due to the shortage of nurse educators again it goes back to the shortage right!!
Finally , I do see light in the end, I believe it will get better , and conditions will improve for all of us, but it will take a long time.
Be optimistic, study and learn as much as you can, and you ll succeed it.
