    Hey Puresass,
have you heard anything about the NLN. I guess were suppose to know by the end of the month. I haven't even seen them. Did you end up joining the nursing association? The sweatshit order reminded me of it. I'm putting my resume for an externship together and thought dang I should have joined that. I wanted too but haven't yet. I wonder if anyone from my class joined...

one of the NLN ladies came & sat in on our lecture on monday & then today we had a meeting with three of the NLN ladies to talk about the program. they crammed all of the 2nd year students & the LVN-RN students in 355 & asked us about the program. haven't heard anything yet, though. i think they're still there until tomorrow.

i didn't join the nursing association, but i might? i don't know. kind of short on cash, though.

are you going to the scripps externship hiring fair on november 4th?

I was an alternate for the LVN transition class starting this sememster and I just found out I got a seat! Woot! My head is spinning from everything I need to get done before Feb. 23, but it's doable! I'm just stoked that I don't have to wait another year!!!

OMGosh that is great news! I applied there and was not even an alternate so I have to wait a whole year if I don't get in anywhere else. I hope they are letting in all the alternates! That is such good news just had to say GRATZ!

When did you all apply? I am finishing my pre-reqs now (AP2 and Micro) and will be applying in the Fall. Congrats.

Thanks guys! I didn't even know I was an alternate, but a few weeks ago, I was getting emails about one of the nursing classes this semester. I called them and asked if it was a course I was supposed to take while waiting to get in, and they were like, "oh, didn't you know you're an alternate?!" Uh, No! If I'd known I would have been calling them everyday asking if anyone had dropped out...lol. I asked if they thought I'd get a seat, and they told me to go to the first few weeks of class to see if anyone dropped out. I was planning on doing that, but then someone dropped out before classes started.

I applied in May 2008 and was told it would be a 3 year wait.

Really, May of 2008? I wonder if the economy has an effect. Maybe people can't afford to quit their jobs and since the government is holding on to the scholarship and grant money, there are more people who can't afford to go right now. That is cool that you did not have to wait long.

Just wondering if most of you out there have completed the G.E. requirements? I am trying to start those now....I have a 3 year wait (hope its shorter).

I got on the waitlist in August 2008. (LVN to RN) I have my English and Math class left to do. I took this semester off after cramming in my pre-reqs over two semesters. I plan on taking the two classes in the fall so that way IF I get a call for the 2010 class I will not have to worry about taking classes while trying to study for the nursing classes.
    Good luck to everyone
