grossmont college waiting list

I've been on the Grossmont waiting list for a year and a half now. Estimated start date is fall of 2007...anyone else?? I mainly see posts from people in programs or people still taking pre req's. Looking for others in limbo here in san diego like myself.

I am on the waiting list for LVN-RN (since 02/2009) and yes i was informed 2-3 year waiting period. I am just curious to know how long others waited for this program.

I submitted my application in May 2008 and was told it was a 3 year wait and started Feb. 2009 for the LVN-RN step up. I think so many people are submitting their applications everywhere, so the wait times are unrealistic. I was on the wait list at Grossmont and Southwestern.

This topic has never made sense to me. I have actually looked back at a couple years of class schedules, the FAQ on the homepage and don't find what they say to be the case. One thing you will learn as a nurse "assess assess assess". My sister in law is finally getting in this semester. She got on the waiting list in 2006.

I'm sooo glad to be done, straight A's, graduated honors, made some amazing friends, and helped countless people! Nursing school has been amazing and has changed the way my brain thinks. Its not as bad as everyone makes it out to be content wise, its the time that is the killer. I take the nclex July 1st and start my New Grad Position July 13th!!!! I am so incredibly excited!!! 5 years in the making...I don't understand what is going on with the wait list but I am so glad I made it through the waiting (2 years), care plans, class exams, pop quizzes, math tests, pre-labs, skills labs, hesi finals, APA format, deadlines, paperwork, poverty ect ect ect.

I submitted my paper work and joined the waitlist for the LVN to RN program August 2008. I am hoping and praying that I will get Spring 2010.

Based on how long others in my class waited, I'd say you might have a good chance.

Care plans are going to be my undoing...lol. I have such a hard time with them...lol. In my head I know exactly what needs to be in the care plan, but for some reason I can't translate it into a working care plan...lol.

Most people i have come across waited at least a year

If I get in January 2010 I will have been on the waitlist about 16 months. I finished Micro last summer and turned in all my paperwork. I took the TEAS test about 1 month later. I have two general education class to left that I will take in August 2009. Hopefully I will be ready when they call me in to start class.

The last time I contacted the Director's office they told me that they were up to July 2006 application dates...that's just for the RN program. I applied in July '06 so I still have my fingers crossed that I may get a last minute call from them.

I passed the NCLEX!!!! And I start my job on Thursday!!!

Thank you! I had to be a registered nurse by July 9th to start my job in the ICU and I did it!!! Thank you rockenmomRN for your help a couple months back. I did everything you suggested and even when to LA to get an early test date. Good luck nikkidm82. You got in!!! You can use all my books, i clicker ect, I'm so proud of you! See you soon! Puresass let my know when you pass. I know you will do great!
