Wow, they sure don't make this easy. It's already bad enough for those of us who've been on the waitlist. Were we supposed to specify which program we wanted? I don't remember that question anywhere.

By the way, I talked to someone at City College. They said that the wait there is also 2-3 years. I hear that they are now doing drug testing before entering the program and that some have failed...scary, huh?

that question was only addressed to the people who got an email back in feb.
Their doing background and drug testing at grossmont too. Shoot, if a few people fail the drug test it increases my chances of getting in:spin:

Yes, they do drug testing at Grossmont as well, as they should.

Just be prepared you guys, it's harder than you think. We lost 7 people in the 2nd semester. That was the most so far.

Why do you think people dropped out? Is there something we should study before starting? Isn't there an entrance test that other schools make you take that Grossmont doesn't? Maybe we should study that.

    Dropped out? Nooo, failed out.

From what I gather, most of the people who failed out were having problems with their time. Some worked too much, some had too much going on at home, things like that.

It's really hard to say what you should start studying before hand, when you don't have the lecture to back it up.

If you study and manage your time properly, you should have no problem.

sorry to pump you for info all the time, but... how many hours/week of work do you think is do-able during the program?

It's ok, ask me anything you like.

I work on the weekends only, 4 hours each day. So pretty much, I hardly work. But some people work much more than this and do fine.

i got an email today saying that i'm among the group of students being considered for fall 2007 & that i need to take the TEAS on may 2nd. (YAY!!!) even if you pass, you're not GUARANTEED a spot in the program, you just maintain your spot on the waiting list. if you fail, you can take it one more time before you drop to the bottom of the waiting list.

they're taking 40 for the daytime program, 30 for the night/weekend program & everyone else that passes is put on 'standby' for the fall program.

looking up info on the TEAS kind of has me panicking... it DOES NOT look easy at all. i ordered the prep book & online prep test through ATI, so hopefully that will help.

did anyone else get the email today? apparently they're also going to send the same info through the mail.

i'm sure you'll get either an email or a letter in the mail soon. if we turned in our applications around the same time, we can't be THAT far apart on the list.
