grossmont &/or city college waiting list

U.S.A. California

this will be my second year on the waiting list for the ADN program at grossmont college... when i submitted my application, the school TOLD me it'd be two years, but everyone i talked to said it would be more likely one year, so i assumed that i'd get in this past fall... but, no. :(

so my question is: is anyone else still waiting on the grossmont waiting list? or if you already got in, how long did you wait? is the city college waiting list any shorter?

It will be worth it. Are you taking any other courses while you wait? You can get a head start on courses that will transfer for your BSN if you choose to do that.

i already have a BA in another field, so i probably won't be going for a BSN after i get my ADN (i'm thinking of eventually going for my masters, but i already have most of those pre-reqs out of the way too), so i'm thinking of maybe taking spanish? can't hurt! esp living in southern california.

Oh totally, I wish I took Spanish.

I have been looking for others....

I applied in june 2005; right after spring finals. I still have my letter and I saved the email I received this spring as well as my response. Just in case things get "lost".

What is going on w/ the program i noticed the fall 2006 cancellations and the night and weekend program doesn't seem to be starting up this spring (according to the class schedule). My estimated start date is the fall of 2007.

Anyone else with that estimated start date?? Anyone starting spring 2007??

i turned in my application at the same time as you... in may of 2005. i emailed the nursing dept & got an email yesterday saying that my approximate start date is fall 2007. so hopefully that comes through! we might be classmates, katilyn!

who did you have for A&P 1 & 2 & micro? ...maybe we've already been classmates?

i'm keeping my fingers crossed for us to start in fall!!

Unfortunately, my start date is later. However, I did notice the same thing you did. I called the nursing office and they said that they won't know until mid-November whether or not they will be offering a night/weekend section anymore. Yikes! Anyhow, she sounded annoyed with me, so I didn't ask any other questions. I wish they would update their website, then we wouldn't all need to freak out every day.

Keep your fingers crossed anyway.

152 Perchez (fall 2004)

141 Thompson (summer 2004)

140 Furlan (spring 2005)

I think i read somewhere on the Grossmont website that the fall starters get notification in march. Did you take the first aid class yet??

i had perchez in fall 2004 too! the night class with T/Th lab. i had lowe for A&P 1&2, though.

i read that we'd be in march, too! i've heard so many different things from the office, though... i've been told that they don't notify people until june, but when i called last june (just to double check when letters were going to be sent out), they told me that everyone had already been notified in march! so i'm guessing the website is correct & the original person in the nursing dept that told me that the letters would come out in june was wrong.

i haven't taken the first aid class. is it required before we start?

the website is SOOO out of date. it still says that most students get in within 3 semesters... haha

Section 3519 for Perchez. I had to look it up because I couldn't remember what days I went. It was a night course and she usually let us go home early to watch ER. There were two sections during lecture the other section had a different lab teacher.

we were in the same section (i had to check too)! what a small world!

Some are getting in within 3 semesters, but 4 is more common.

When do the letters get sent out??? A month ago i updated my personal information for a second time. Will they do it by mail or email?
