by VictorC Apr 19, '12i'm thinking of applying at fairmont hospital for a rn position at the snf/ rehab unit. I couldn't find much information about the hospital, but heard mixed reviews. Does anyone have any information about the unit or the hospital such as patient: nurse ratio, the work environment? Any information will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

- Apr 20, '12 by bayareastudent0711i don't know much. but remember patient ratio is higher in a SNF, and are usually more acute than we think just because the government can't afford to pay for the rest of their hospital stay. good luck!

- Jul 31, '12 by Dana1969I've seen pts discharged to that facility, and it is called "acute rehab" in the discharge documentation. Because it is rehab, it doesn't fall under the CA pt-ratios. I've heard they work their RNs to the bone.
