Everest College Ontario RN program

U.S.A. California

Hello all,

I know there are already a couple of posts for this school, but reading through the threads I didn't get all the information that I was looking for and considering that they are pretty old threads I made a new one because I didn't think anyone would look at those anymore. I've already completed all my prereqs at a community college, but I don't want to wait around forever to get into the community college rn program.

Anyways, I wanted to find out for those who are already in the program or have the info. What kind of studying should I do for their entrance exam? What kind of stuff comes in the tests. I also would like to know the cost or estimated cost of the school. And how do they go about choosing the students for the program? What exactly is the application process?

I've already called the school, but the lady that answered the phone wasn't able to give me much info except for that info sessions are in August and the program starts up again in January.

And if you are already in the program, I would like to know how to do you find the teachers to be?? Would you say that this is a good academic choice??

Please help me as I live really far away from this school and I am moving out there just for the program. It is a little difficult for me to just drive over to visit the school. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

Hello! Congratulations! I just called for the July start and they are telling me they don't give much info on financial aid until one gets admitted, but that they do have great private loans. Would you let me know more about this? Do you know if living expenses are computed into how much you can borrow? and what is the interest rate that applies and/or monthly payment once you're graduated?

Thanks ^.^

Hey tuition is roughly 55K... They use Genesis for their private loans and im not positive but I don't think you can get a loan that includes daily expenses. When i started interest rates were between 6.9 and 14 percent, luckily it has droped down to 2.9 to ? maybe 9 percent. They break your loan up into three portions, im not sure how many quarter each one covers. So to give you an idea of best case senerio this includes all prerequisite classes (so if you don't need them then it will be less) my first loan was approx $15,000 with 6.9% intrest so my monthly payment was $90 a month. I am now on my second loan which was approx $9,600 at 2.9% intrest comes out to $24 a month so with both loans i now pay $114 a month. Keep in mind these loans you have to start paying off right away because their private loans, I also have government loans (sub/unsub) those you dont have to pay back until 6 months after school i have two of those one for each private loan for $9,500 each. I still need to repackage one more time to finish out my last few quarters but it should be less then the first two.

I agree with what Tina said, right now interest rates with the genesis loan is 2.9% with genesis though, they do require you to pay the interest while in school. Now there are other options as well, you can apply for a Sally Mae loan or for a loan through your bank/credit union. Or if financial aid covers most of your cost you can choose to not finance the rest with a loan and just make cash payments. They will probably go over very briefly financial aid during the information sessions (make sure you attend one as that is the 1st step in starting the admission process).
