I work in the NICU and we are currently overhauling our disaster preparedness policy. In the event of a major disaster and the need to evacuate our tiny members from our unit, we want to make sure we have and excellent policy and protocol for the staff to follow. I am curious to find out what other hospitals plans are like. We are looking at how to store our supplies, where to keep them for easy access, the process of evacuating an infant on a ventilator, etc.... I would appreciate any input you might give us. Thank you!

Hi all! I'm currently a nursing student in a disaster preparedness course. I was just curious to know if anyone could give me information on the ICU nurse's role. Links to relative websites, journals, or even the names of any books would be GREATLY appreciated!
