U.S.A. California

Hey everyone!

Well we made it mighty far and now we are done with pre reqs and on to applying!

I am applying to the 2012 cohort and would like to invite everyone else that is applying to post here for any questions, concerns or comments!

Well I am about to put in my application. So far I have all pre reqs done, pending algebra this winter intersession. My Teas test is done, my letters of rec are on their way and basically all I am waiting for is final transcripts!

Good luck to everyone who applied

Let the wait begin!

Thanks Ind & Dark, you both have been very very helpful! I truly appreciate it and congrats on getting in!!

Oh hey there!

Well if you research through this thread you will find that there is a pic on here of how much everything is. The highest is pre req GPA (30 pts) followed by TEAS overall score (15pts) then county of residence (5 pts) the rest are worth one pt each (each letter of rec is worth 1 pt but you have to turn in both or you receive no points). They do not display how they calculate pts but I am sure if your pre req GPA is around 3.65 and higher and your TEAS is in the 80s and higher plus you live in SB or Riverside counties then I think your in (as well as have MOST of the other supplemental stuff). Depending on your stats, the letters of rec could have helped you but not much.

Dont be alarmed though, you already got into CSULA, so unless CSUSB is your top choice then I wouldn't worry. I think the pass rates for CSULA are higher than CSUSB but I think CSUSB as a lot more to offer and is more student friendly. Their nursing club sounds great, the professors sound great. I hear the clinical sites (besides being in the middle of nowhere) are welcoming. But I guess I am biased lol.

Anyway, if you haven't received anything by them yet, don't worry, technically the accepted students have until July 30th to respond. I believe one already opened a spot up for someone I know on here. There maybe more especially since CSUSB is one of the last schools to notify anyone. The people in the nursing dept are pretty laid back compared to other programs (CSULB is the worst by far) and very cool with answer questions to the best of their ability. The worst news is, you will have to wait and see how many decline their spot.

I know I'm late, but congrats DarkBluePhoenix. I've seen you posting for a while and it's apparent to me how much you want to be a nurse. I know you'll do great at CSUSB. Congrats and good luck!

Hey Clueless!

Thanks! the one CSU finally didn't screw me over lol! How is it going with CSULB? I can always see that thread alive and kicking! You excited to start?

Hey everyone, I was just wondering if anyone got an acceptance/denial letter yet? I emailed one of the counselors and he said they mailed it out last monday but i still havent gotten anything and im starting to worry! ANd i read somewhere that accepted students have til july 30th to respond? I just dont wanna be screwed over..ahhh! can anyone help? thanks.

Hey, I know acceptance letters were mailed out a while ago. I got mine like two weeks ago. Maybe you should try calling the nursing dept directly, especially if you're accepted.

There is a list floating on here where they have all those who were accepted.

Yeah, I posted the list on page 23 if you don't know whether you're in or not. Good luck, I hope your situation gets straightened out.

gvaldez: if you do not see your name. no worries because a friend of mine was notified as an alternate but got asked to be accepted last week. just keep checking your mail and make sure they sent it to the right address

Gvaldez, I was not accepted but I still haven't gotten any denial letter! I would have never known if it wasn't for the list posted on this site.. I called and they keep saying the letters will come the letters will come..
