CSULB Fall 2013 BSN

U.S.A. California

I just submitted my application yesterday and thought I'd start a thread for this process! I was involved in one last year when I applied, and it was really helpful to know what was going on, and where my stats where with others! I was told that they are expecting over 500 applicants, and we would hear back by the end of February! Good luck everyone!

Ahaha okay. I'm the dude on the laptop sort of in the back who is sometimes there.

Just wondering where everyone stands... do you guys plan to do trimester or the basic program?

How do you know where you stand? I will ask M..... tmr and hopefully she will tell me if I'm an alternate or not.

If I'm in, I'll go with the basic. Doing science class in summer is never a good idea.

Anyway I will worry about that later. Right now the interview is the only thing in my head. After reading last year thread, I figured the interview will NOT affect our admission. We will do group activity (probably 5-6 persons per group), play some kind of "game" like you describe an item and the other person will have to figure what item that is, watch a video and answer questions/ write short essay about it, .... Last year this girl did really bad on her interview (according to her), she was still accepted eventually. so I don't worry too much about it. Right now we are already ranked. and the outcome of the interview won't change it.

Good luck to all !!

Sorry, I meant how you stand as in "your thoughts on". I just wanted an opinion on what people wanted to do more: basic or trimester.

@choe.cm

I'm hoping for the trimester program once I'm officially accepted.. I want to put my summers to use instead of waiting an additional year to graduate. I also like the fact that trimester clinicals are done at Long Beach Memorial (:

Did any of you book your interview appointment yet? And if so, were you able to ask the coordinator if you were a selected alternate or not? I'm trying to call but all I get is the busy tone ...

I just booked mine at 10am and she said she isn't able to let us know if we're an alternate or not at this time :/

No she won't let us know now... But I guess on the interview day, if you really beg her, maybe she will let you know.

Anyone book at 9am? I have 2 midterms in the evening on that day so I need to do this as early as possible.

the basic bsn info packet has also been updated this past month (on csulb nursing's website) and it now says that approx. 70 students are admitted every fall and spring. that's a big jump from 90 :dead: which means higher averages! kill me now. jk but this sucks

I am going at 11. I wanted to go in the morning to get ready just in case I don't wake up. I called her and asked when we should know officially and she said a week after the interview! So end on March, not in late April. At least that is good news

Not sure if it will be really that quick. Last fall it was around the fourth week of april. But I guess transfer students have to wait for the university itself too. But if at least they let us know where we stand in the list, that'd be great.

I scheduled my interview for 11am! I'm so excited!
