CSULB Fall 2012 BSN

U.S.A. California

Hi!

I think the CSULB School of nursing recently post new pool statistics including those who were chosen for Fall 2011.

Knowing that the rating average is 8.91/10, that seems like a huge difference than the previous semesters!

Anyone else planning to apply to CSULB Fall 2012 BSN program?

You're definitely not the only one overwhelmed. There's like 20 pages worth of directions do all the different things they want. I'm just as confused and overwhelmed and I've actually completed the requirements (except for the health insurance part). They're just sitting in a folder on my desk because I dread attempting to upload them all. That seems like it would be the harder part. Lol

Don't worry, it's super easy and quick to upload everything. I did everything in like 20 minutes and the website neatly organizes your documents too :D

So I have two questions:

What are we supposed to wear tomorrow? Business attire? Casual? I think it's casual, right? Or should we still dress to impress?

Also, one of my TB tests was read between the 48 to 72 hour mark, or in other words, on day 3. Do you think this I going to be a problem?? The nurse at Kaiser said it was fine but then out orientation packet says 2 days. My work schedule is pretty tight and inflexible; I don't want to have to do both tests all over again :( I should probably ask about this tomorrow but I wanted to see what people on here think. Thanks so much! See you all tomorrow :)

Oh I remembered one more thing! Is everyone printing out the Nursing Handbook??? It's seriously 77 pages... That's a lot of money and I am not even sure where to get it done since I don't think my printer can handle it. I have it in my iBook folder on my iPod. This should be enough right? I hope... Haha

Your TB is fine as long as it was read before or exactly at the 72 hour mark. I'm wearing jeans and a comfy shirt, no need to be uncomfortable sitting there for almost 8 hours in business attire haha. I think as long as you have the handbook in your ipod to kind of follow along you'll be fine. I was able to print it at work, the only thing I recommend printing is the release of information page, HIPAA, and some other page we need to turn in tomorrow. Also, have you guys gotten an e-mail with our parking pass yet? We were supposed to have gotten it by now:icon_roll

I print both packets at kinkos yesterday. They charge $0.10 a page for black and white print. I paid a little over $10.00 for both files.

Wow we get a parking pass? Didn't know that. Well no didn't get that email. Only the reminder from MW about tomorrow, a welcome email from the campus CNSA rep, and an email today from CHHS about SOAR

I'll be dressing casual as well

I thought I had read somewhere that we get a day pass for orientation. Maybe I read it for the SOAR thing.

Yes, dress casual. Don't be that ONE person who dresses formal. HAHA!

And you guys do get a parking pass for your SOAR date.

Those packets are so long. I definitely killed a lot of paper printing it out. Did you guys read ALL of it yet?

I think the parking pass is for SOAR.

And I will dress casual haha. Thanks everyone :)

I didn't get a chance to print the handbook but I will do it eventually. I skimmed through most of it. I would definitely look through it but don't freak out if you haven't yet. It's more of a reference guide than stuff you need to know RIGHT now.

See you guys tomorrow! I'm excited :)

Man was there so much information at orientation!

tell me about it! i thought i was going to cry when i got switched from the trimester program to the "semester" program. i was like what are the odds that they would draw my name?! but now i feel like it was sort of a blessing in disguise because i can get overwhelmed easily and i really want to make the most of my time at csulb so i may not even switch to trimester if i have the opportunity to later on. we shall see!

good luck to all of you who are looking for housing! i know its stressful!
