additional ge requirements?!?! excuse my language but ***! i thought by getting igetc certified you could bypass taking all lower division ge's. global issues, human diversity in the u.s.?! what is this?! high school?!?! sorry, as you can probably tell i am, how do i put this, --> i hate general education!!!

and i need 0.32 units in math?! how does that work?? i took a calculus course at uci for gosh sakes!

thank you for the counselor recommendation, i will be giving her a call sometime in the next few months.

oh and one last thing, how are we supposed to graduate on time if the unit cap is 16 and we are already taking 14-16 units of nursing/capstone education per semester??

I was finally able to review my transfer credit. It shows all the classes that I've taken and the equivalent to the course at CSULB. I don't have any red dots or flags that you guys are speaking of. But since it's still says that it's unofficial it doesn't exactly which 70 units they're I'll be accepting for my GE credits. It says that we'll be notified by email/mail when it's done. However since I have well over the amount of units needed I would like to know how they go about deciding which classes they will choose to fulfill each category. Maybe I should talk to that counselor as well. Anybody else raise and eyebrow at the GPA calculation?!?

haha i'm right there with you. it says i need like .8 units in some area even though i've taken a million courses to satisfy that area. hopefully our red squares will update when the department is finished reviewing all our transfer credits.

as far as when we'll fit those ge's, the nursing schedule has it set up so that we take a ge course during 2nd and another ge course during 3rd semester. i was talking to my friend who graduated from the program last year and she said if we choose our capstones wisely, they will satisfy the global issues and human diversity ge area (she recommended human sexuality and international health).

    Ana,

Thank you for the tip! I LOVE it when one class satisfies multiple categories There's hope! haha

    Clueless,

The only things due before orientation are creating your online immunization tracker account and ordering the background check. All the actual titers and immunizations are due July 30th. Question those of you that are considering taking the summer class at SaddleBack have you confirmed that their nutrition class will definitely fulfill the requirement for CSULB? And if so how did you confirm this?

After finally being able to view my transfer credit I see that my nutrition transfers over as 132 which is not the one for the nursing program which sucks because any other school would take it. Anywho when I went I assist.org and looked up SaddleBack as well as LBCC because I believe that school was mentioned as well, it says that the nutrition they offer transfers over as 132 as well.

Randomly I checked a number of other schools, some I was familiar with and some I wasn't and none I them transferred over as anything but nutrition 132. I noticed the articulation agreement only goes up to this year as well. Doubt that matters tho.

Anyone have any insight? Still holding out some hope that maybe I can get credit for it I guess. Thanks

@LavenderButterfly I took NUTR132 at CSULB and Clueless said that they won't take it. I haven't asked personally though, but I plan to. Unfortunately Saddleback is too far from me so I can't take it in the summer. But i'm trying to take pharmacology and pathophysiology online in the summer.

Wow you took a nutrition there and they won't take it? That really sucks I plan to ask as well. I'll bring the class syllabus as well (another school told me to do that for them) I'm at least going TI try because it's not going to be that darn different and I don't want to take it again especially when I've already received an A. Saddleback is too far for me as well so I don't think that'd it be something I'd do, but I would like to know if it is accepted tho.

That's a smart idea, especially if you can get them online. At least you can still enjoy your summer. You could even do your homework at the beach LoL. Good luck with pharm and Patho this summer.

I spoke with ------ (can't name drop?) on the phone on Thursday and confirmed that the Nutrition class being offered at Saddleback over summer will in fact be accepted by CSULB's nursing program. She said they just have to "adjust it manually."

If anyone can find a Nutrition class online over summer PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do share! I really don't feel like sitting through a nutrition summer class twice a week

I wish they had a list of approved Nutrition classes just like they do for Pharm and Patho so we could at least see what other community colleges we have to choose from.

I don't think they will take it since they are two separate courses at Long Beach. But it's not like I could have signed up for NUTR339 because its only open to nursing students I think? And a lot of pre-nursing students take it so yeah .. I got an A in it too you'd be so lucky if they took your nutrition course! Especially because NUTR339 is a Wednesday night class from 7-945 at Long beach memorial hospital. And that would def suck if you have your clinical day on Thursday at 7 AM! I'm actually traveling a lot this summer, but I'll have access to internet so I guess its vacation + homework for me? Lol. That's if I get into the course that is

Oh NO! That sucks! Darn I just knew that I was through with night classes now. I'm definitely going to research this nutrition thing more. I plan to do quite a bit of traveling this summer before the program starts. Can't imagine not having a stamp for 2 whole years!
