Hello everyone! I plan to apply to CSUDH's MEPN program in the fall of 2013 (for the cohort beginning in fall 2014). I am in the process of completing my prerequisites. I just thought I create this thread in case other applicants are interested in discussing various issues, such as the application process, why you're interested in CSUDH's MEPN program, your background (experience, undegrad institution, etc.).

Information About Others:

No potentially libelous information about specific schools, instructors, or health care facilities/entities should be posted in these forums. While it is important to be able to network, everyone should be mindful of the following:

  1. It is a small world - when we narrow it down to a state and throw in some personal info, there is actually a pretty good chance someone may recognize you if you are not careful. Your privacy is paramount to us.
  2. While this site is a wonderful place to vent (without excess personally identifiable details) it is not the place to express why ("x" specific person, place or program) is terrible. Gripe away, but since we cannot permit allegations to be made about named entities, your care in not naming them is very much appreciated.
  3. Please do not give out personal identifying information about yourself or others. Do not name names where anyone could identify any person in any facility including your nursing programs or place of employment

For those who got in. We have our orientation on June 14. they also said they are still doing the admission process..

hello everyone congrats to those who got in!!! I am interested in apply to csudh this fall. I was wondering if I still have a chance if I got a C in microbiology but B's and A's in all my other prerequisites? Also, will I be able to apply if my bachelor's degree is still in progress? (I will have it completed by June 2014)

Thanks :)

Hi SarahHo, you have to have a B or higher on the major pre-requesites. They will tell you to repeat it. They will not accept the C. I think You should have completed your BS by the application deadline. Not really sure. Those who already have a BS have a higher chance of getting in. It's a point system basis

Hi everybody!!! Does anyone knows if the MEPN is a fulltime program? I work at a Medical office and need to keep working even part time at least.Like is the program manageable for working people?

It's full time, like most other entry level masters programs. I can't imagine there are many students who are still working, even part time.

I am applying for Fall 2014.... When we meet with them for the Workshop - do they expect us to have our Professional Portfolio all together? I'm talking about having the Letter of Intent, Reflection of Nursing as a Career, and Practical plan of action, already written up or do they go over it during the Workshop? Thanks - appreciate any information

They will instruct you about portfolio content, application process, and deadlines during the workshop. You do not need to have for the workshop. It's great to get a head start though! Good luck!

Thanks for the info!
