CSUDH MEPN - Fall 2013 Applicants

U.S.A. California

Published

Hello everyone! I plan to apply to CSUDH's MEPN program in the fall of 2013 (for the cohort beginning in fall 2014). I am in the process of completing my prerequisites. I just thought I create this thread in case other applicants are interested in discussing various issues, such as the application process, why you're interested in CSUDH's MEPN program, your background (experience, undegrad institution, etc.).

And congrats on getting in! Are you from LA or will you be moving ?

Congratulations to everyone. I'm already an LVN so I am not doing the CNA certification. I'm from Norwalk, CA. So not to bad of a drive..

Great thank you for that information. I found a program in Torrance, CA that's $300, accredited for CNA and offers weekends. Starts April and ends July. Sat & Sun 9-3. What did the Red Cross ask for as far as paperwork to apply? This program is asking me for my social security card and mine is lost and I can't replace it soon enough!!

I attended CSUDH for my undergrad and live in Westchester near LAX! Are you in the area or moving?

Just an FYI, I remember the program saying they ONLY accept CNA cert. I have MA experience and we had EMT's applying and they said absolutely not, they want CNA certification. Unless they informed you otherwise, I would make sure. You don't want to lose your spot by of this certification!

Thanks mysol336. I did. Because an LVN has higher training than EMT's, MA's, and CNA's. they have also mentioned this during the orientation.

Awesome. So you will be commuting from Norwalk? I will not be working during the program. Will you?

Yes I will on both.. I will be working reduced hours. Hopefully my manager can work with my hours, if not I can just transfer.

I know one other person. But I found out that people are still getting interviewed and waiting to hear back, as of last week.

Seems like they are starting to put people in the waiting list..

I got the email about Pathophys today from ********....it listed all the names of those in our cohort. But I don't know anyone.... My name is Marisol by the way. I go by 'Mare'. What are our names?
