U.S.A. California

Hey everyone! I know this is so far away but I wanted to start a thread for the crazy pre nursing students like myself who are already totally anxious for this next spring to come around! All who are applying to CSU'S for FALL 13 admissions lets start a convo! This way we can use it as a resource for application and other deadlines and a support system while we await are letters! How are everyones stats? Where are you all applying to? Have any of you taken the TEAS yet? Ill start...

I am applying to SFSU, SAC STATE, SAN JOSE STATE, CSUEB, AND USF

cum GPA-3.98

pre reques-4.0 (Still need to take Microbio)

TEAS-havent taken it yet

over a year of pain healthcare work with direct patient care(clinical medical assistant)

multi cultural experience in brazil and nicaragua

2 semesters of ASL(does that count as proficient???)

I was rejected from SJSU. Not surprised, given the extremely high impaction scores this year. I called to see if there was any hope of being on the waitlist, and talked to the dean, who was super rude and short with me, and basically couldn't get me off of the phone fast enough. So unbelievably rude, after I have worked so hard. Whatever. I submitted my tuition deposit, and may consider changing my major to Nutrition if I don't get into SFSU.

Dear Mary:

We received more qualified applications than we have space for in the BSN program during the academic year 2013-2014. You have therefore been placed on the wait list for admission and rank number 52 of 118. We will be in touch if a space becomes available for you.

Meanwhile, plan to read the Wait List FAQs and return the Wait List Response form directly to the School of Nursing. If you have outstanding prerequisite course work, please be advised that official transcripts verifying completion with a minimum grade of C must be received by the SF State Office of Undergraduate Admissions no later than July 8, 2013. This is required to maintain your wait list status.

In the event a space does not become available, dedicated, eligible students are encouraged to reapply during the next application period. Although you’ve been placed on our wait list, you may be admitted to SF State under your selected alternate major for fall 2013. A separate notice concerning alternate major status will be sent from the university Office of Undergraduate Admissions.

Thank you for your interest in the School of Nursing.

Sincerely,

School of Nursing

Number 52!! Is there still a chance for me!?!? :(

I literally don't know how to feel right now...last year, they went up to #62 on the wait list, but the year before that, I read that they only went up to #24. I have so many mixed emotions right now! :sorry: :nailbiting:

:/ I didn't even get an email from SFSU. Don't know what that means... since if they already have the waitlist set up, they should also have the accepted one too.

I haven't gotten any e-mail from SFSU and Sac State, too... It makes me so nervous. I am still taking my last GE classes, and it is hard to focus on school works with this....I hope that we get our admission result soon...hopefully today...

Aw I didn't get in :( I guess better luck next time!

Hey I heart,

Did you find out about east bay or another program?

It takes so long for East Bay to respond this year:'(

Just out of curiosity, I know that a lot if you apply for both sac state and East Bay nursing program. If you get admitted to both schools, which one would you choose?

Hi TrNg. I applied to both. I'm leaning toward Sac State because (1) I know I'm in and East Bay won't respond until well after the date I have to Accept (or reject) Sac State, (2) I think EB is a 2 1/2 year program (is that true?) versus 2-year, and (3) I don't know if this is illusion but I feel a little safer in Sacramento. (I'm kind of a weany about big cities.:barf02:)

On the other hand, I think EB is less expensive and it's very handy via public transit from Oakland and Berkeley, both great areas.

Anyone else?

Thank you for responding scwolf:-)

I got admitted to Sacramento too. However, i would have to move if I attend there. EB is only 20' diving away from my place. I have been making comparison between the two schools, and i agree with what you said. EB's grogram is 8 quarters ( 2 1/2 year) while Sac state's is 4 semesters.Sac stayte has higher NCLEX passing rate, but EB isn't too bad ( over 90%), I believe.

About the ITE at Sac State, I think we can return it before the deadline saying Yes, but pending because we're still waiting for another school. I think I'm gonna do that since I don't know when we'll hear back from EB.

Good point, TrNg. That's nice of them to have that caveat. Good luck with whichever program you choose!

Hey did you hear from east bay
