CSI College, Vacaville Ca

Has anyone ever heard of CSI college, in Vacaville, Ca.? There VN program was just started a few years ago. I heard good things about this school, just wondering if anyone else has any opinions, positive or negative, on CSI college. I plan on applying there this year.

I know this is an old post but I just wanted to put my opinon on the board for this particular school.

I would not recommend this school because there is a lack of real teaching going on. They give you a power point presentation with little explaination and teaching behind it and then expect you to pass the tests that they have not prepared you for. I was one of the few people out of a class of 30 that was actually passing these tests because we did no homework, few quizzes, no projects or any other type of assignments that reinforced this huge concept called nursing. During our inadequate lab time the entire class of 30 was showen a procedure once and then expected perform it perfectly one time( it was all on a pass/fail basis) and then perform it on a live person when we went to clinical later that week. I and many of my classmates felt ill prepared to even go out into the clinical site

If you already have a good background in nursing and just want to get in, take tests, and get out, then this school it perfect for that. But for real learning I would look elsewhere.

The program at CSI is misleading. They have you shell out $30,000+ upfront, promise you quality teaching, all supplies are provided, and private tutoring. In the end you are buying extra nursing books, supplies (stethoscope, drug book etc..), no tutor, and an instructor who has no lesson plans, gives wrong answers, and avoids questions. This is part of the reason why secondary school have a bad rep. I thought nursing programs are suppose to be strenuous and intense. This in now preparing you for the NCLEX. Very disapointing. DO NOT WASTE YOU TIME.:trout::madface:

Newgrl411, did you mange to finish the program?

Have already paid full price upfront, currently going through it and regretting it. Rather than trying to get my money back, I'm to just Finnish it, praying it would get better.

Newgrl411, Yeah there is no way you would be able to get your money back.

Are you in the evening or day class? I was in the evening class and after everything mounted, eventhough I was passing, I just couldn't give them another dime of my hard earned money. But after my baby is born I hope to begin a new LVN program elsewhere. The dream hasn't died yet.

Good luck to you. Just keep positive. Hopefully you don't have too much to go.

When your searching for a Nursing program, always check the schools NCLEX "pass rate" with the State- they are factual! You want a school that's students pass close to 100% for the NCLEX Click "education"
