CHLA New Grad Program March 2013

U.S.A. California

Hi all,

Just wanted to start up another forum for CHLA's Versant New Grad RN Program for the March 2013 cohort. Here's a link to CHLA's page: http://www.chla.org/site/c.ipINKTOAJsG/b.3579535/k.2A87/RN_Residency__Pediatrics_Nurse__RN_Versant.htm

The online app should only be open for a few more days apply now and GOOD LUCK!

At least we have this forum to update eachother…better than waiting with no clue what is going on…this is such a good resourse. Makes this whole process more exciting!

Definitely! Its nice to kind of know whats going on...I was reading a blog from the cohort that started in September 2012 and the due date for the packets was March 26th someone said (which I believe is when I remember submitting mine last time also) and the first thread I saw of someone getting a call for an interview was like April 16th is so that's about 3 weeks....and its only been two weeks today since the packet deadline date...so there is still time

So we are almost there!! Its actually probably a good sign that they take three weeks because that means they are taking the time to consider all the packets, so we all will get looked at.

I like that perspective, that they are taking time because they are going through the applications -- keeps me from going too crazy! I'm hoping that if I do get called to interview it is early in the process because my baby is due in mid-November. I would rather not go into labor during the interview if I am so fortunate as to get one. :)

Ah I hope your delivery goes good! But hey if you do go into labor in an interview your at a hospital already at least ;)

Shoot, I'd say deliver the baby yourself in the interview to show how good you are! HA HA HA! I crack myself up!

I like to think we have a pretty good cross section of the applicant pool on this thread, different locations, different departments selected...still no one has heard anything? I have never ever been so hypervigilant for the sound of a phone ringing lol!

I know right! Where did everyone apply btw? Im hoping we will hear early next week maybe? Also be on the look out for weird numbers being the (i.e. Canada numbers and blocked numbers) I got a few calls from them awhile back and that's how they showed up on my "smart phone" haha. Fingers crossed for everyone.

I just found out a friend of mine has 2 sisters working on the Hem/Onc unit. She is going to ask them later on, if they have heard anything about interview dates or calls going out. I should hear back by tomorrow morning but with a little luck, maybe we'll have our own answers by then :)

I picked Float 1st and CV 2nd btw.

My 1st choice CV Acute, and 2nd was 6 West (solid organ transplant, GI, Nephrology, Gen. Surg)
