Cedars-Sinai New Grad Summer 2013

U.S.A. California

Just thought it would be helpful to post a new thread for the upcoming new grad program starting this summer. I've seen the thread for the program last year and wanted to see if anyone was one of the first 250 who applied for it this year. I applied for cohort #1 and got a phone interview last week and the gentleman said that I'd receive an e-mail within 1-2 weeks. I've also heard of people getting rejection emails as well without a phone interview. Anyone have additional info they'd like to share? Good luck to all us new grads out there!

Are you guys bringing anything to the 3rd interview? My email didn't specify if we needed to bring a resume, etc.?

hlachoffrn- sorry to hear, such a bummer when you when you did everything right but the interviewer obviously does not want to be there. You could always call HR and inquire about your status, say it went to spam and you want to double check? best of luck to you!

I hope we get some info this week for cohort 1! still waiting and its making me anxious that everything is taking so longg

Aww, thanks, gastro2012. No worries if I don't make the cut. I wish all of you who did make it the best of luck and the best possible outcome from these interviews and in your obviously bright nursing futures.

Me too! One of my friends already got her background check in the mail and I haven't gotten anything!

I havent received an interview email or rejection as well :( Does this mean that they have moved on with other candidates?

I was just wondering to those who got the invite for tomorrow, what time are your interviews?

Good luck to everyone tomorrow! I'm at 2:30. Wondering if it's the same setup as the 2nd interview. If anyone has any tips or info it would be greatly appreciated! :)

Same set up! Always good to use examples (i.e. clinical experience) when discussing a question they ask you. You will do great nursai! Don't stress!

ahh thank you so much for the encouragement and the information! :) I'm excited but really nervous. Any really hard questions that caught you off guard or are they generic interview type questions?

hlachoffrn and tinatuna -- I'm really sorry to hear you guys didn't get any communication from C-S. I'm crossing my fingers you get some positive feedback!

zombmurse -- My appointment is at 2:30 pm (same as you, Nursai!)

As for questions, I think earlier in the thread there was mention of a question about a time when you broke the rules. I think also something about a question about a time when you went above and beyond a patient's expectations. But, don't hold me to it if I'm wrong! I might be remembering stuff incorrectly. Thank you states for giving us an idea of what tomorrow will probably be like -- it's nice to know what to expect.

Best of luck to everybody!

I don't remember answering a lot of questions - maybe like 4 or 5 but they were all pretty straight forward and consumer service related. My only advice is to be yourself and show the manager how you would fit into the unit/floor. Sell yourself as much as possible! Good luck to everyone interviewing tomorrow!

I'm preparing to submit an application for the 3rd round. For those of you who have already applied, what does the application process entail? Do they ask for any essays? Do they tell you which departments are available or is everyone hired into the residency program without a specific unit? Thanks!
