Can pre-reqs transfer from NY to SD?

U.S.A. California

Hello, I am new to the forum & have been lurking around for a few days. I am completing my Bachelors Degree in psychology in New York City & would like to move out to San Diego for my RN &/or BSN schooling & career. All of my nursing science pre-reqs (human anatomy I & II) were taken years ago in NY & have passed the recency requirement so they must be re-taken. I still have to take microbiology for the first time.

My question is, would it be better to take my nursing science pre-reqs in San Diego, or better to take them in NY as part of my degree? I have read on these forums that it may be hard to get into nursing science pre-reqs in any San Diego college because of the demand for pre-health courses. On the other hand, if I take all my science pre-reqs in NY I am worried about them transferring well to SD. I go to a reputable NYC public university so I don't think it will be a problem, but just wondering whether anyone knows whether out of state pre-reqs will transfer.

Thanks for any responses. :)

Your best bet is to contact the nursing schools you are thinking of attending and asking them.

Good advice. I called two so far & they said it would probably be better to take them there. Now I just have to decide whether to put all my eggs in the SD basket or leave options open for applying to schools in other states.
