Also, I'm wondering on my application if I need to send in both my BSN qualifications as well as my ADN information--there's only room for one on the form. I'm assuming they want the information from where I got my RN initially. It's all so confusing.
Okay, got it...you're a US citizen, just living in the UK with the IL license, cool.

I would always call and e-mail the CA BON directly with your questions. Calling them....good luck if you can get thru, lol, same with leaving a message, it's always a hit-and-a-miss.

    E-mail might help out too.

Is there some sort of fingerprinting business there in the UK? Maybe like at some kind of governmental agency or the police station there? Good luck!

Yeah...no on the fingerprinting front, which I find kind of irritating since I had to have my prints run through the DOJ and Interpol to get my spouse visa to live here to begin with!! They're pretty useless here.

I've emailed the California BON, though. I'm sure I'll have about as much luck with them as I am having via the state of Illinois (ugh).

All I wanted was to cut my wait time down a bit so I can start applying when I get out there!

Hi I am applying for California licensure by endorsement and on the website it says they require a transcript from your nursing program. Is that for ALL applicants or just NEW RNS...if I am licensed in other states I obviously had to complete a program. Just curious because my school is closed and getting the transcript is a pain in the neck. Thanks!

Sorry to bear the bad news, but it is for ALL applicants. CA has pretty stringent educational requirements regarding licensure.

If your school is closed for good, then you may want to drop the CA BRN a note to ask what they would like you to do.

would you have any information regarding international graduates? i'm a permanent resident, with illinois rn license, sent in my application on april 15 to california. then april 26 i got a letter from california asking for several additional information, one of which, is for a copy of my old passport and visa when i was still in nursing school, which i can't find anymore.

After 2 weeks they reviewed my papers and decided that i am not eligible for california rn. This is because they want me to go back to school because my medical surgical nursing and obstetrics are not concurrent with my clinicals. I have to take those two subjects along with clinical rotation before they approve me. They want the clinical part be taken within a month of the classroom part, which is the curriculum if you study here in the US. Because in my school in the philippines, they made us finish all the classroom part first then a whole year of clinicals. So be aware that even if you have passed the Nclex RN and licensed and practicing in another state doesnt mean you can get a license in california.
