Ca nurses striking

In 5 weeks I am finally on my way from NY to start my new life in Ca. I'm very excited to be close to family again and to get back into acute care. Despite my excitement, I do have concerns with the constant striking throughout the state. I am not familiar with with the whole nursing associations going on strike. I currently work for an Army family practice clinic and my previous hospital experience never went on strike.

Any insight on the process and what to expect when nurses do go on strike would be wonderful!
