I just received my acceptance letter from BC! Any one else

Hello! I am a student at CSUB hoping to get into either BC nursing or CSUB nursing fall of 2013 :) I was wondering if any of you could offer some advice on how to get into a program and what scores/grades are realistically going to get me in. I have taken all of the pre-req's (for BC) except for chemistry (got a D, must retake) and will be retaking it winter quarter 2013 @ CSUB...only problem is- Idk if I will have my transcripts evaluated by BC in time! I wont be finishing the class @ CSUB until late march and the application period for BC is march 1st-31st! What should I do?! I was thinking that I could have all my other pre-req's evaluated early and then just get the Chem grade over ASAP and hope they will allow it........On the other hand, I need to complete Stats, Phil, and Chem to apply to CSUB nursing but time is not an issue and Im already registered for those classes in fall......

Right now BC does a lottery system to get into the program. All qualified applicants are drawn at random to fill the seats. But as of Fall '13 they're going to start using the multicriteria system like CSUB. So your best bet is to just get the highest grades you can, and don't take the TEAS lightly, study for it. Especially if you're applying at CSUB. Some people wouldn't have made it as highly ranked as they did at CSUB had they not scored so high on the TEAS. Shoot for A's not B's. I applied for CSUB this Fall and didn't get in (I'm assuming. Still haven't heard from them, but know people got acceptance emails already). My prerequisites for CSUB I had one C, in Statistics. And it ruined me. And I sucked on the TEAS and no time to retake it (but still passed for BC thankfully). I got a 73.3%.

My experience with having transcripts evaluated at BC is this. They say it takes up to 12 weeks. I've had transcripts evaluated twice. The first time it took 6 weeks and the second it took 8. The application period for the Fall cohort is the entire month of March. Turn in your transcripts ASAP and maybe try talking to someone about it. Maybe they'll put a rush on it or something. Or call the nursing program director and maybe he can do something. Definitely have your current work evaluated. Maybe they'll work with you. The worst they can say is no.

I have a question to anyone who applied for the BC program. Did you get any confirmation or email that they received your application? It's really stressing me out if they didn't. Thank you.

I tried to ask and was told I would have to wait until the 30th to find out. I applied earlier this Spring for the Fall. My guess is if you dropped off your application in the office, then you are good. For some reason I just wanted to double check this time. God bless you and maybe we will see eachother in nursing school.

Does anybody know when the acceptance and rejection letters are sent out for the Spring 2013 semester? The deadline to apply was Sep 30, so I'm just curious approximately when applicants will be notified. Super nervous, this is my second time applying.

Hi jenjen83,

I also have applied for the first time to bc for Spring 2013. U didnt get in last semester? r u from that area? I am not I live 5 hours away. I asked they said this week is rejection letters and first week of November is acceptance so Idk . I am scared, i think i wont get in the first time , mostky people get in around the second time it seems like. I was also applying to a csu but I didnt pass the teas for it so that really torn me down and I have applied to community colleges, I passed the teas for there but my score is not good for the CSU lol...

do you know if it is lottery or by points?

did you apply anywhere besides bakersfeild or did you just apply to bakersfeild community college

I applied last semester too and didn't get in. It seems most people get in on their 2nd try, but I'm trying not to get my hopes up. Who did you ask about the letters? I'm originally from Bakersfield, all my coursework was completed there, but I now live in Fresno.

It is a lottery system, Fall 2013 will switch to Multi-criteria, so it will be a point system. I've also applied at Fresno City twice, didn't get in. And now am looking at National University.

Yea I talked to the student girl but she said they r going to be drawing out of the lottery in a couple weeks then they will find outHow did u do on your teas score?Do u know approximately how many students get accepted for each semester?

I don't think I might get in then because typical they accept people around the second time and that's sucks they will be doing point system. It's all about luck cuz I know a person who got accepted through lottery at my local community college the first time vs someone who had to wait 2 3 times to get in.

I live 4hours away from bakersfeild and I am not from there but i don't k ow just hoping for the best

U don't want to apply to any csus. I can't because of my teas scores which sucks cuz I can't pass for the csu which makes it so hard

Do u know how many peoe they accept each Semestef plus alternativesWere u placed as alternative last year
