Applying to Sacramento State for spring 2015 question

U.S.A. California

I am applying to Sacramento State for Spring 2015. I still need to take Physio and a few misc. classes like food and nutrition, an arts course, and a english critical thinking course. What I am wondering is this: If I were to take Physio during the summer, got an A lets say, would Sac consider me over other applicants because I have completed all my pre-reqs and co-reqs? I have a 4.0 right now. I am debating whether I should take this Physio summer class at a JC an hour away because the professor is better than the one I would be taking in the fall at a closer JC. Let me know what you think!

Thank you @vintageswagger. That's what I thought, just wanted to make sure before I ordered them :)

I am at 73 points right now! Good luck to you guys, hope to be your classmates next spring!

Does anyone know if the AP scores need to be official AP transcripts? I remember reading somewhere that it can be just a print out of the collegeboard page showing the scores but I'm not sure

i would love to apply to sac states program. any body know if they have an LVN to RN program their

Right now they do not. When they do have that program running, it does NOT confer a degree. You will NOT get a BSN out of it. If you're looking to do an LVN to RN program, I would suggest doing Sacramento City College's program or American River College's program. Both offer a "Career Mobility" program that when combined with meeting all RN program prerequisites and General Education, you graduate with an ADN. The 30-unit option RN doesn't actually graduate from either school...

If you're looking for BSN, go for the traditional program and you'll probably be able to graduate in less time with your BSN than going to an LVN-RN program and bridging to BSN later. Still, my advice is to apply everywhere you're qualified to. That helps ensure you find a seat in a program much sooner.

The application says: "Please include printout of your MySacState, Student Center, Test Score Sumary, College Board Transcript, or other official transcript outlining AP Credit"

So it seems like you can just print out the college board transcript. I tried to access my college board account but it has been over 5 years since I have taken my AP test so my score is archived. I'm planning on printing out my test score summary from my old school, hopefully that will count.

I'm taking the TEAS tomorrow at Sac State, getting nervous! It's the last piece to my application and I really need to do well. I'm also kind of ready to be done and have my application turned in, haha.

Hi, On point topic, my kid only has 58 (3.52 GPA if correct, 92.7 TEAS). Should we even bother to apply for BSN for Spring ? But I guess it doesn't hurt with little of work and money to see. I am thinking of having her retake TEAS later on. We are in SO CA and also applying to couple out of the area CSUs. Good luck everyone.

It wouldn't hurt to apply, since there's really no guarantee, it all depends on everyone else's scores. If previous trends continue it looks like the cutoff might be around 73 this time, although there are many factors. I just took my first attempt of the TEAS today, got a 93.3. That puts me at 68 points, not quite what I was hoping, but I ended up signing up to take it one more time on Monday, my last chance before the application is due. 2nd time's a charm, right?

Hey guys! I am applying to Sac State Spring 2015. I have 65 points (which is a little low compared to previous semesters) but typically Spring semesters have less applicants than Fall. So I am hoping for that!!! I am also applying to CSU Chico, CSU, Northridge (ABSN), and CSU, San Marcos (ABSN). I have a B.S. Health Sciences and B.A. Liberal Studies from Chico State. Sac State is my #1 choice because I am from Sacramento, my family is still there, the program is AWESOME, and it would be an easy move for me (I currently live in Santa Cruz). I wish everyone the best of luck!!!

Prerequisites GPA: 3.818 (Microbiology, O-Chem (I have taken inorg. chem already), and Developmental Psych in progress at Cabrillo College).

TEAS Score: 85.3%

Previous senior citizen caregiver experience, lots of volunteer work in hospitals, and I took 4 years of Spanish in college (6 points).

GOOD LUCK EVERYONE!!!

Round two of the teas gave me 96%. Now I'm at 74 points, turning in my application tomorrow. Good luck everyone!

Question about submitting TEAS score: Since I took it at Sac State, I don't need an official transcript, just an "unofficial printout." I am just wondering if that means the "Individual performance profile" that we get after we take the test, or if I should print out the unofficial transcript (which also includes my scores on the practice tests and on my first attempt, but doesn't break down the individual percentages for each section).

Never mind, I decided to just submit the individual performance profile. That made the most sense, hopefully that's the one they want. Submitted my application this morning and I'm already anxious to hear the results! I would so love to start at Sac State this spring!
